Demand action from Congress for a Supreme Court that serves as a check on presidential abuse of power rather than an instrument of that abuse. The Supreme Court's ruling to grant presidents broad immunity was a massive failure in preventing the overreach of executive power, and it needs to be amended. Only Congress can fix what the Supreme Court has broken and to ensure that presidents aren't above the law. In our testimony to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, we call on Congress to prevent the overreach of executive power and to create a Supreme Court more worthy of the public's trust. That includes: enacting reforms to reverse the Supreme Court's presidential immunity ruling; creating enforceable rules for recusal to prevent justices from hearing cases in which they have a conflict of interest; strengthening congressional oversight of the Supreme Court; and re-evaluating how justices are selected, how long they serve, and how power is distributed in the judiciary. We've provided the road map to accountability. Now, make your voice heard by signing our petition and demanding action from Congress.

What are the manifesto promises for sport? In the lead-up to the General Election I want to learn more about the political parties think about sport and their manifesto commitments. Dr Google led me to these interesting summaries to some of the main parties' pledges by Youth Sport Trust. https://lnkd.in/eQxCpyEr. I've searched some of the manifestos and notice the short sections on sport. It would be interesting to do a word cloud as my perception is football, cycleways, football, grass, funding, grassroots, football, museums, football, cycleways, football. Sounds like there needs to be a parallel IFS, the Institute for Football Studies! I'm probably being optimistic to want to know more but I currently feel "is that it?" What have I missed? If you have garnered greater insights please let me know in the comments.

The U.S. Supreme Court recently made a landmark ruling that clarifies the fine line between public officials' private speech and state action on social media. This decision addresses whether public officials can block constituents from their social media accounts in a digital age where social media platforms serve as key communication channels. Through the cases of O'Connor-Ratcliff v. Garnier and Lindke v. Freed, the Court established criteria to determine when such actions constitute state action, setting a precedent that will affect how public officials engage online. This ruling impacts the relationship between public figures and the public and sets guidelines for what constitutes official speech on social media. Explore the significant implications for public officials and constituents by reading these pivotal cases' details. Follow the link to our detailed article for an in-depth analysis and insights into the Supreme Court's decision. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gArG7nfq #BuelowVetter #Wisconsin #WisconsinAttorney #TheSolutionStartsHere #SupremeCourt #SocialMedia #PublicOfficalsAndSocialMedia #CourtRuling #CircuitSplit
