Ever wondered what #assemblages —as a heuristic device—have contributed to human geography? I recently wrote an essay on this, featured in The Encyclopedia of Human Geography. Three key takeaways: Beyond fixed boundaries: Assemblages encourage us to move away from rigid definitions, embracing the fluidity and interconnectedness of human environments. Dynamic relationships: They highlight the importance of understanding spatial relations as constantly shifting, shaped by both human and non-human actors.
