Senior Tech Recruitment Consultant | Python Development Specialist | Connecting top talent with exciting opportunities in the UK #TechRecruitment #Python #UKTechJobs
"The elections are slowing things down. Once that's over we're hiring for senior leadership positions again" Over the last few months I've been working with several VP/Heads of Engineering in Manchester to help them find new roles and navigate the tricky market. All these candidates have worked at exceptional companies and have solid career histories but are still struggling to find a new role, some being out of a role for 2+ months. Obviously, roles at this level don't pop up as frequently but it can be super disheartening for candidates to be out of a role for an extended period of time or applying for multiple roles and getting nothing back. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! After speaking with clients and candidates in the investment banking space the general consensus is now the general election has been completed, we'll see an upturn in investment and the market should see a noticeable improvement. My advice to any senior leadership candidates is to keep persisting, attend network events, have chats and coffees with recruiters and keep applying regardless of previous outcomes and you'll get there in the end. Hope this helps! #manchesterjobs #headofengineering #CTO

ICMA CM - Consultant, facilitator, coach, former city manager helping local government leaders be and do their best with their teams on behalf of their communities. @Raftelis
The city/county manager position is really a crucial one in making local representative democracy work. A person in that role can do a great deal of good through leadership of an organization, guidance to a governing body, understanding community needs, and thinking about how the local government can best serve. But it is not all rosy. When one takes the job, they are filled with hope and excitement. No matter how well suited the manager may be on the day of hiring, the situation can be very different once a person assumes the role, as elections change the composition of the governing body and events shape the local government. My colleagues Frank Benest and Rod Gould and I wrote this article with some thoughts about when, in tough times, a person should stay in a job and when it might be time to go. We offer some tips for preparing for an exit. The threshold question about staying or leaving is: "Can you fully and honorably discharge the duties of your pivotal role, or would the council, staff, and community be better served in selecting a new manager?" Our local governments need talented, ethical, committed leaders as city and county managers, and other executive roles. But there are things out of a person's control that may make the fit a poor one, and recognizing when that is the case can be both hard, and essential.

Imagine if each state's head of government had a unique title instead of the universally recognized "Chief Minister." Chaos would ensue with titles like "Head Minister" or "Chief Minister Office." Similarly, in the corporate world, different titles for the same role lead to confusion and inefficiency. Standardizing designation structures streamlines recruitment, clarifies roles, and enhances collaboration. Let's adopt a common language for job titles, fostering clarity and efficiency across industries. In conclusion, the adoption of a standardized designation framework is not just a matter of convenience but a strategic imperative for modern businesses. By promoting consistency, clarity, and efficiency, it can streamline various aspects of talent management, recruitment, and collaboration. It's time for companies across the world to embrace this paradigm shift and adopt a common language of designations that transcends organizational boundaries. Let's pave the way for a more harmonious and simplify our future work life now. #StandardizedDesignations #TalentManagement #Efficiency #Collaboration #FutureOfWork #HRBestPractices #b2b #b2bmeetinggeneration

The last few months has seen management demand drop substantially to record lows. Management job demand is often a reflection of public sector hiring, and the lack government recruitment is very apparent by its absence. Not surprisingly private sector demand for management professionals is very subdued as companies continue to tighten their belts as interest rates remain high. Hey #Veterans, USAID proposals are fun! And if you've had to write, say, intel reports to a high standard, with page limits, according to a style guide, pulling from diverse sources (including some people who are cautious about how much info they give you), emphasizing your strengths...or if you've had to look at the maintenance budget and estimate how much plane parts, personnel travel, expendables, and training are going to cost as you go through the variable workload of pre-deployment workups (don't forget different entitlements by rank)...or if you've had to walk six folders through different sets of offices for a signature without losing track of who is out of pocket when...well, you have relevant experience. #vetsindevelopment #sdvosb
🚀 We are hiring a Business Development Associate to join our team! 🔍 The applicant ideally brings experience in coordinating and/or supporting the development of USAID proposals and should be excited about helping build new business development systems and processes. 📍Hybrid position based in Denver, CO or Washington, DC. 💲 Salary is $55,000 USD 🔗 To learn more and apply please visit: https://lnkd.in/g6neJgwH

Management demand down 1% The demand in management talent was very strong in NSW which pretty much buoyed the entire market and minimised the decreases experience by other states. Given that management is a major driver of productivity growth, it is heartening to see that the private sector demand for management professionals is quite strong across the nation. #recruitment #management #humanresources
