AJ started her career with Schneider as a Freight Broker in 2018, and grew into a Team lead, followed by a promotion into a Broker Operations Manager role in 2021. Her true passion is being a leader. Last week I had the pleasure of attending the 2024 Leadership Symposium hosted by Great West Casualty Company in Louisville. I am impressed each year with the depth and breadth of knowledge shared at this event, covering the core topics and concerns impacting the industry. As we are in the midst of upgrading many of our core driver technologies, including AI-powered cameras and safety alerting and analytics, much of the data shared hit home. I learned that while a typical fatal motor vehicle crash may result in $1,700,000 of cost; when a large commercial vehicle is involved, that cost more than doubles to $3,600,000 on average. We have already seen the benefits of a more proactive approach to driver safety, and I am hopeful that we remain one of the 57% of fleets that see a decrease in unsafe driving after implementing AI-powered solutions.
