Right now, communities, facility operators, nonprofits and solid waste authorities can apply to receive up to $50,000 to expand foam polystyrene recycling. We're excited to once again partner with Foodservice Packaging Institute's Foam Recycling Coalition on this initiative, which to date has made it possible for an additional 11 million residents across the US and Canada to have access to recycling for items like foam polystyrene cups, egg cartons, takeout containers and packaging materials! Visit www.RecycleFoam.org/Grants to learn more about foam recycling, read about previous recipients or apply for a grant.

🌟 NEW this week, I cosponsored a new bill, A5906A, to improve New York's food recycling and donation program. 🍏🥦 📊 One-third of all food in the United States goes uneaten, with the majority ending up in landfills or down the drain. 🗑️ This legislation aims to reduce food waste by redirecting usable food from landfills to those in need, cutting down harmful landfill gases, and saving money.💲 🍎 By expanding access to excess food for those in need, this bill helps address food insecurity, while also reducing costs for facilities with excess food production. 📉 💚 Let's make our state greener and more compassionate together! #FoodRecycling #Environment #CommunitySupport 🌱🌟

Can cotton really make a difference in someone’s life? It can. With your help. Through the Cotton Lives On™ programme, we divert old cottons away from landfill and transform it into new things like recycled denim pads for roll mat mattresses. Then the magic really happens… The roll mats made from old cottons given to the Cotton Lives On™ programme are then provided to various charities, including Shelter. Shelter fights to end the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and communities. We’re privileged to work closely with Shelter and help make a difference to people's lives. Having something comfortable to sleep on can have an incredible impact on someone’s life. Through the Cotton Lives On™ recycling programme we’re determined to keep helping people and the planet, one waste cotton garment and offcut at a time. Be part of something meaningful. - Pop us a message and see how easy it is to get started on https://lnkd.in/eU6vccJc - Now imagine how your old cottons can make a difference.

#breakfreefromplastic .'Between our air, food, and water, there isn’t a part of our existence that isn’t contaminated by microplastics and plastic pollution. Do you agree that there should be federal action to curb the contamination of microplastics into our environment and our food chain?' I agree, we have a solemn obligation to protect our environment and our food supply. 'Megacorporations like Formosa Plastics have a long history of dumping tons of plastic waste into our waterways. Does it concern you that Formosa and other plastic producers continue to engage in toxic plastic pollution that is harmful to our environment and our health?' This is absolutely unacceptable and we must take action now! 'Corporate polluters could unravel decades of hard-fought victories for people and the planet. But that doesn't mean we should stand aside and do nothing while they tear apart protections for our Earth and all the life it supports.' https://lnkd.in/eY8XnxR7

How important is it to you that we protect our oceans from more plastic pollution?' Extremely important! 'This massive rise in plastic pollution is driven by Big Oil as it pushes its toxic petrochemical products into our environment. This has gotten so bad that scientists are calling plastic plants the “next big carbon superpolluters.”' 'Friends of the Earth is working overtime to stop big corporations from expediting the climate crisis and its devastating effects on our planet. We’re a part of the world’s largest grassroots environmental network – and this work has never been more urgent. But it will only continue if top activists like you keep powering our efforts forward.' 'Corporate polluters could unravel decades of hard-fought victories for people and the planet. Did you know that the Welsh government has introduced a new workplace recycling legislation? From 06th April, it became law for all businesses, charities, and public sector organisations to sort their waste for recycling. Through our partnership with Beaverswood, we have the solution. Meet #Racksack ♻️ 🗑️ Save space – Space is an all time premium, and Racksack doesn’t encroach valuable floor space like a standard industrial bin ⌚ Save time – Racksack lets you sort waste at the source 🤑 Save money – Racksack provides cost-efficiencies through space savings, eliminating the need for black sacks and a lower acquisition cost compared to standard industrial bins 🌍 Save the planet – Enhance your recycling efforts and reduce the number of black sacks going to landfill To explore the range, click here: https://buff.ly/3WVV8jC #WasteRecycling#Planet#WorkplaceSolutions#Legislation
