Today marks the release of the UK National Audit Office's report on maintaining public service facilities. 📊 According to their findings, an average of 5,400 clinical service incidents occurred annually in the NHS between 2019-20 and 2023-24 due to property and infrastructure failures. This is a stark reminder of the hazards patients face when seeking care and treatment in some of today's estates that require repairs. The report's release is especially timely, coinciding with the announcement of the New Hospital Programme (NHP), earlier this week.
