🌟 Exciting News for Nigerian AWS Customers! 🌟 Amazon Web Services (AWS) now accepts payments in Naira (₦), along with seven other local currencies! This is a game-changer for Nigerian businesses, startups, and developers leveraging AWS services. Here’s why: 💳 Simplified Payments: No need for currency conversions or dealing with fluctuating exchange rates. Pay directly in Naira! 💡 Cost Transparency: Predict and manage your cloud expenses more effectively without foreign exchange uncertainties. 🌍 Local Empowerment: Supporting local currency strengthens the Nigerian business ecosystem and makes cutting-edge cloud technologies on AWS more accessible. For local cloud service providers, this presents both challenges and opportunities. The ability to pay AWS in Naira increases competition, however, I think it will encourage local providers to innovate and offer competitive, localized solutions to retain their market share. To use Naira as the default payment currency: Log in to your AWS account, go to the “Billing and Cost Management” page, and select “Payment Preferences” under “Preferences and Settings” from the left navigation menu. Click “Edit” to change your default payment preferences, and select the Naira from the “Payment Currency” drop-down. Once you save your changes, AWS will generate your future invoices in Naira. #AWS #Nigeria #CloudComputing #Naira

Imports are just as important as exports! This is an old evidence-based conclusion from Kommerskollegium | National Board of Trade Sweden. In a brand-new report, Patrik Karpaty and I look at how digital services imports in the form of cloud services impact Swedish companies’ export performance. We find that companies using cloud services tend to be more internationalised, both by exporting more and to more markets. And it is especially smaller firms’ export performance that benefits! Accordingly, we emphasize the need to reduce digital trade barriers, particularly between the EU and the US. Perhaps it has become time to start looking into formalising EU-US digital trade FTA negotiations? Anders Ahnlid Pernilla Trägårdh https://lnkd.in/dRSEEcjn

This includes Cloud and Web Hosting Services such as Google Cloud and Google Workspace. But don't worry!
