The DASH team had a great time at the STANY- Security Traders Association of New York Emerging Leaders Symposium last week! It was an honor to sponsor this year's event, which offered plenty of opportunities to connect with peers in addition to valuable content, in particular the panel on AI's growing impact on the financial services industry. Thanks to the STANY Emerging Leaders Committee for organizing such an engaging and informative event. Looking forward to seeing how these discussions shape the future of our industry.

Attending the last Inclusive Leadership Programme event this week was truly inspiring. It was encouraging to see many organisations continuing their efforts to create spaces where everyone feels valued and included. It was also a powerful reminder that building truly inclusive environments takes more than just policies and strategies. It requires a willingness to be vulnerable, to have honest conversations, and to embrace discomfort in the pursuit of meaningful change. Brené Brown’s research highlights that vulnerability is not a weakness; it’s the foundation of connection, trust, and growth. In the context of D&I, vulnerability means having the courage to: • Acknowledge our biases and gaps in understanding. Real inclusion starts when we admit we don’t have all the answers and commit to learning from others’ lived experiences. • Create psychologically safe spaces. People from underrepresented backgrounds need environments where they can share their perspectives without fear of judgment or exclusion. Vulnerability from leadership encourages openness across teams. • Embrace authentic conversations. Meaningful progress in inclusion requires honest, sometimes uncomfortable, discussions about privilege, bias, and systemic barriers. It’s through vulnerability that we foster real change. • Lead with empathy and humility. When we show up authentically, admitting mistakes and striving to do better, we create cultures where everyone feels they truly belong. Inclusion is courageous progress. When we embrace vulnerability, we pave the way for deeper connections, innovation, and a culture where everyone can thrive as their authentic selves. Let’s challenge ourselves to show up with more openness and empathy in our D&I efforts. Taking risks is not often associated with the nonprofit sector. Yet, I've witnessed impressive and nimble , calculated experiments and pilots especially when it comes to leveraging new technologies or modalities. In my observation and past experience, innovation in process, efficiency gains and cost savings often stem from nonprofits - the scrappy mindset breeds creativity and discovery. A most recent example is developing new inventory management by a small food bank or a refugee support service translating US immigration forms in the most requested dialects. There are experiments everywhere. Let's not underestimate the sector. Ever. #nonprofits #innovationstartshere #aifornonprofits
