Yesterday, the Graph-Massivizer Project coordinator Radu Prodan provided a fantastic overview of the project at #EBDVF24 in a session focused on #extremedata, organized in collaboration with the projects of the #DataNexus cluster where Graph-Massivizer Project is integrated (NearData Consortium, EXA4MIND, EFRA, EXTRACT EU Project, EMERALDS project). Radu Prodan summarized the main aspects of the project highlighting challenges around #graphprocessing, and went deeper into the technologies and tools the project is developing to convert different types of datasets in #graphs, analyse, process them and all this considering #computingcontinuum where Graph-Massivizer Project applies #sustainability criteria as well as #optimization parameters for processing. Use cases were also explored, where projects discovered potential synergies. This work is to be continued... #FARI2024 | How can data reuse shape the future of cities and regions? Reusing data is key for improving policies, meeting citizens' needs, and enhancing services. However, challenges like lacking infrastructure often hinder progress. During a workshop organized by the European Commission’s Big Data Test Infrastructure and funded by the Digital Europe Programme (DEP), participants learned about the Big Data Test Infrastructure (BDTI), a free open-source tool designed to support data experimentation. The session brought together civil servants from regional, federal, and communal governments, as well as organizations working with public administrations. Today marks the conclusion of an exciting three-day journey at Innovation Days DC! The final day featured an OGC API Training Workshop led by Micah Brachman, where participants engaged in practical exercises to explore how OGC APIs are revolutionizing geospatial data sharing and analysis while advancing FAIR data principles. Throughout Innovation Days, every session advanced OGC’s vision of building the future of location with community and technology for the good of society. Modernized, Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) play a critical component of this vision. Highlights from the first two days: Day 1: Joshua Delmonico’s (Federal Geographic Data Committee) inspiring keynote set the tone, followed by insightful discussions on geospatial data modernization, climate change, and smart cities, and concluded with a collaborative roundtable on climate data interoperability. Day 2: Anna Rubinstein (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) delivered a compelling keynote, complemented by a panel exploring the impact of rapid AI adoption on the integrity, provenance, and trust in geospatial data. A second roundtable focused on AI applications, offering practical insights into integrating AI with SDIs. A heartfelt thank you to all speakers, participants, and organizers for making Innovation Days DC a resounding success!
