Trust me, I got back 2 whole hours of 'me time' every night.
So there I was, fresh out of grad school, landing my first data science gig. Exciting, right? Well, kinda.
My poor laptop and my brain never got a break. And I was wondering where my evening went.
Then it hit me: I needed a shutdown ritual. Just 15 minutes to wrap things up properly.
Now, I do these 4 simple actions:
• Close those 27 open Stack Overflow tabs
• Commit my code
• Check my to-do list for the next morning
• Go on a walk outside
This little routine? It's like putting up a big old "No Trespassing" sign for work stuff.
Here's a tip: Set your Slack to "Away" at 5:45 PM. That's your cue to start shutting down.
And suddenly, you've got time for that side project. Or, you know, actually having a life.
