In the heyday of the Electric Age (mid 19th century), electric belts, corsets and helmets were all the rage. They were supposed to cure all sorts of ailments. Alongside revolutionary applications, no doubt generative AI will also bring us lots of snake oil... The Cambrian explosion of newness brought by GPTs has pros and cons: On the bright side it allows developers, tinkerers and the general public to hack the technology and invent new designs and business models. When our dots spoke to us for the first time from this old-school display, it brought back old memories of when we first started up our Atari or Commodore.
