Prediction: Major League Baseball (MLB) teams pivot their Analytics groups to GenAI by next season. No game is more awash in stats, with super clean data sets and billions of dollars at stake. Pretty quickly, you could train an AI to select the optimum pitch sequence to use against any batter at any moment in a game to maximize the chance of an out. Using real-time video, it could analyze and learn the pitchers throwing mechanics and execution for that day, and adjust the selections to compensate. Doubtless, Baseball Savant is already on it and 100 PhD students are already trying to license specific models to different teams. Baseball will become an arms race between teams developing the best predictive engines, like F1.
