Recently, a planned data centre in Dublin was blocked due to energy grid concerns, reflecting a growing debate: 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿-𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀? There are also talks of scarcity of resources such as copper, with a whopping average of 65,000 tonnes of copper used per GW of power 🤯 As data centres grow in importance for digital economies, the balancing act between demand and sustainability will shape the tech landscape.
