DYWIDAG participated at last week's 12th International Cable Supported Bridge Operators Conference in New York, USA. The presentation was prepared by our head of R&D, Jakob Laukner, and delivered by Roger Frenn, was titled “Sustainable integration of SHMS into existing and new bridge structures”. The presentation highlighted the connection between a bridge's lifespan management and its lifetime SHMS, including approaches on how to build and integrate #StructuralHealthMonitoring Systems into stay cable structures sustainably, including improved standardized guidelines and an inter-disciplinary approach, ensuring that quality and fit-for-purpose systems are installed, that benefit the structure, and all relevant stakeholders involved, therefore overcoming the risk of poorly executed and/or discrete solutions, that can frustrate and fail to deliver the originally expected and promised outcomes. ✅ If you would like a copy of our presentation, please email: jakob.laukner@dywidag.com 👉 More information about the topic can be found in the conference agenda - https://lnkd.in/g5kUNZJM #SaferStrongerSmarter

* SES has announced its acquisition of Intelsat for a staggering US$3.1 billion. The deal will combine two satellite operator giants with a total of 100 GEO satellites and 26 MEO satellites. The #satellite operators” industry has become increasingly competitive due to the emergence of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations. #SES and Intelsat are joining forces in response to this fast-changing landscape. By combining their resources, they hope to offer a compelling alternative to LEO constellations and stay relevant. The integrated company will have a combined gross backlog of €9 billion, with networks expected to contribute significantly to revenue. In a world where everyone is talking to everyone these days, can we expect to see more mergers and strategic alliances on the way? In this sea of #consolidation, what does the future hold for smaller satellite operators? Perhaps smaller players could lease capacity from larger constellations under a “Satellite-as-a-Service” model, or #collaborate with them, as the industry continues to evolve. The merger between SES and Intelsat is an important industry milestone but also a sign of the industry’s rapid evolution. Innovation, agility, and niche services will be crucial for survival. As satellites continue to shape our connected world, we can expect to see more strategic moves as well as faster deployment of new technological advancements.
SES and Intelsat closed the chapter on the will they/won’t they story today, with news that SES will acquire Intelsat for $3.1 billion. The deal brings together two of the largest satellite operators for a combined company with around $4 billion in revenue. https://lnkd.in/enExtQGp

We are pleased to celebrate this achievement for one of our trusted technology partners. The SonicGauge™ Wireless Monitoring System offers an innovative solution in real-time reservoir monitoring, providing operators with enhanced capabilities to optimise production performance. For Nigerian operators, the SonicGauge™ system is a crucial technology in revitalising idle wells and fields by providing real-time reservoir data. This enables more precise identification of underperforming zones, allowing for data-driven interventions that optimise reservoir management strategies, maximise production potential, and improve recovery efficiency, all while reducing costs. As a critical enabler of well performance optimisation, the SonicGauge™ system enhances overall field development efficiency and supports effective reservoir management. #ReservoirEngineering #ProductionOptimization #OilAndGas #WellManagement #ReservoirMonitoring #Nigeria
We are thrilled to share that Acoustic Data has been recognised as a Darcy Partners Technology Pioneer for our groundbreaking SonicGauge™ Wireless Monitoring System! This recognition underscores the transformative impact SonicGauge™ is having on downhole data acquisition in new completions and existing assets, enabling operators to optimise production performance while reducing production costs. This achievement was only possible through the collaboration and support of our clients and channel partners, who guided our innovation and success. Thank you for being part of this journey as we continue to redefine subsurface surveillance plus wireless command+control of downhole equipment. Join the online event: https://lnkd.in/eYkAJZfm

Pioneer Consulting's Bertrand Clesca was very pleased to attend the in-person SubOptic Foundation's “Submarine Network Element Naming” Working Group meeting in London from January 8th - 9th. It was a great and dynamic start to 2025! The objective of the working group is to propose a naming approach for the elements forming a subsea cable system that is logical, unambiguous, and robust against planned or unexpected changes in the configuration (such as the addition of new branching units), from the primary design of a submarine network, to contract formation, deployment, and operation. Special thanks to Mark Hinds of Ciena who hosted the meeting, and to Alan Hollander of Infinera, who will present a poster at Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) next week to explain this ongoing work. We are also excited to announce that a white paper and a presentation will be delivered at SubOptic 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal, later this year in June.
