🤖 Elon Musk says ‘thousands’ of humanoid robots could be working at Tesla in 2025 🤖 Musk has revealed the latest advancements in the company's humanoid robot, Optimus! He shared new footage & updates on Optimus's development, highlighting its evolution from a rudimentary prototype to performing practical tasks in Tesla's Fremont factory. Currently, two Optimus robots are actively engaged in handling battery cells at the factory, with several more operating in Tesla's Palo Alto office. Looking ahead, Musk outlined plans for a major hardware revision by the end of this year or early next, followed by limited production for factory testing ⚡ Anticipating significant deployment, Musk projected that by next year, Tesla could have "over a thousand, maybe a few thousand" Optimus robots contributing to operations! As a "Data Collection Operator," you'll wear a motion capture suit and replicate the actions Optimus will need to perform in the real world. It’s like being a live model for a robot in training. Sound interesting? This unique role offers up to $48 an hour, but it’s not for the faint of heart. You'll be walking over seven hours a day, carrying up to 30 pounds, and wearing a VR headset for extended periods. And if you’re between 5’7’’ and 5’11’’, you're the ideal fit—literally—to match Optimus’ height. Tesla has already brought on over 50 people for this position, demonstrating just how serious they are about making Optimus "genuinely useful" in the near future. But don't expect these robots to hit the assembly line just yet. Experts estimate it will take millions of hours of training before Optimus is fully operational.
