So true, IT is a business enabler and traditional SLA's are becoming ever more irrelevant in today's business world! Focusing on the business outcomes, employee productivity and using IT solutions to drive growth is key.

Thanks for sharing Datacom Stacey Tomasoni - when partnering workplace productivity and customer experience are key towards delivering success.

Business outcomes are typically delivered by multiple teams across multiple business units and even multiple companies/service providers. How do you know which area contributed to the success of that outcome, or more importantly understand which area/s prevented a successful outcome, without metrics and setting targets for those metrics? I don't see this as an either/or scenario. Metrics and SLA's underpin business outcomes and give you the intelligence to ensure that the outcomes are on track.
