There is a wide-ranging conversation going on in our industry about AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning,) which are key components of the effort to transform our factories and supply chains into instant data access machines. But in truth, AI is not currently widely adapted or in use, with most small to medium manufacturers trying to understand how the technology might apply to them or especially how to harness its potential without succumbing to its potential dangers. Some major concerns like ABB and Fluke are working to package AI solutions to things like emissions monitoring, factory floor power monitoring, and data availability.
