This week, I’ve joined Wildlife Conservation Society Philippines, University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute, De La Salle University and Silliman University scientists to study climate resilient coral reefs in the Bohol Sea. Notice anything on the right side of this photo? The areas are Siquijor Island and the Bohol Sea are staying cool (so far) despite superheated temperatures in the northern and western Philippines during the Fourth Global Bleachign Event. What’s going on? Stay tuned - our team of scientists are diving all day and entering the data in MERMAID by night to contribute this important information to national policy.
