We are one week away from FLOW: Europe. One week not only from the biggest FLOW event for us at Pixelz, but also from the most complex and thought-through event I've ever done. 9 workshops, 6 keynotes that are connected through the narrative, new experimental format for the 3 breakout sessions, 6 partners with various activations, 2 days format. Honestly, looking back at my first FLOW: Barcelona in 2022 that one looks like a walk in the park compared to this beast 😅 Even though operational complexity has increased on the backend, our attendees get to enjoy an even better experience thanks to: ✅ still small size of the event! While we will be close to 200 people at the venue, we keep the numbers limited to ensure cosy environment (plus size is compensated by the extended time of the event!) ✅ balanced play vs learn time: there is more time for discussions, networking, and socializing than there is scheduled for pure content! ✅ logical and guided structure of the days that take away stress and information overload I think today I felt the "pre-race nerves" that I always get before the event kicks off. It means it's almost here. I can almost see the finish line. But I am equally excited to see it unfolding after all the work we put into this one over the past months 🚀 #flow2024 #flowbypixelz

Replay was a blast! We were able to demo a recent app we've been building with Go, templ, htmx, turbo native, and temporal. Temporal's UI made it really easy to point out exactly what the program was doing and when. That vertical line of green circles (I'm pointing at it) is the logic to calculate tax for an order, using Stripe. Tax calculations cost money, so these should only be executed when it's necessary, and results should be cached. Temporal gives this to us for free; by defining that tax calculation as an activity, temporal automatically caches the results and only sends a request to Stripe if there's a cache miss.
