We're excited to hear the latest from Muon Space, a Duro customer that's breaking boundaries. Its new integrated hardware and software stack, Muon Halo, will enable faster time-to-orbit and superior LEO smallsat constellation performance. In addition, the company has won contracts to design, build, and operate ten satellites with remote sensing payloads that will launch in 2025 and 2026. The SwRI-led Polarimeter to UNify the Corona and Heliosphere (PUNCH) spacecraft underwent acoustic testing to prepare for launch early next year. The acoustic testing system at SwRI’s San Antonio headquarters simulates the harsh environment of a rocket launch. By bombarding spacecraft with acoustic noise from six speakers blaring at up to 150 decibels, scientists can ensure spacecraft will survive launch to work as designed once in space. A constellation of four suitcase-sized PUNCH satellites will enter polar orbit to continuously image the Sun’s outer atmosphere as it transitions into the solar wind. https://ow.ly/m93R50TNxIY

As part of my Spacecraft Systems course, we took on the 2013 #internationalspacestation Longeron Challenge to optimize power generation for the space station by controlling the port and starboard SARJs' and 8 BGAs' angular position and velocity, with constraints on velocity and acceleration, all while avoiding underpowered any BGA or overstressing any of the BGAs' longerons. My solution is not the most optimized, as numerous changes to SARJ and BGA positioning would increase total power generation over the 92 minute orbit. Despite that, I am proud of my 122k score.

AFWERX awarded Katalyst Space Technologies a Phase II STTR contract to develop the Interoperable Cislunar Observation Network (ICON). ICON helps #space operators #autonomously task spacecraft while providing critical digital infrastructure for #lunar exploration and #nationalsecurity.   ICON is a decentralized tracking system designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of space operations by leveraging a collaborative network of spacecraft from various companies. ICON fills in coverage gaps and prevents irreversible custody loss in #XGEO. Our intelligent distributed algorithms enable sharing observations and processing them satellite-to-satellite on the edge.   We're excited to keep to building ICON with our partners at Purdue University, The University of Texas at Austin, Kathleen Howell, Carolin Frueh, Maruthi Akella, Brandon Jones, and our United States Space Force partners. 🛰️It has been a while since we last shared news about ESTCube-2, and we thought it was time to give you guys a small update. 🛰️ We still don’t know what exactly happened to our satellite as there is still an investigation. However, the most likely cause is still a deployer malfunction, and thus, our team has been given a new launch opportunity, which we plan on using. 🛰️Since the beginning of this year, our team has held countless meetings with potential companies to find new payloads for our satellite since not all the scientific payloads that were on board ESTCube-2 can be re-flown anymore, and we have extra space on board the spacecraft. 🛰️Estonian Student Satellite team has named this new mission “ESTCube-2.1” and is having weekly meetings to determine the exact parameters of this new CubeSat mission. If you have ever thought about flying your experiment on board a CubeSat, then now is the time to contact us and make that dream a reality.
