Long Covid is a multi-systemic disease, damaging organs, neurological, GI, and vascular systems alongside AIDS-like immune dysregulation with research pointing to SARS-CoV-2 viral persistence as the leading cause. There is still a nationwide public health concern regarding falls that occur among elderly people. As part of the Falls Prevention Awareness Week, which will take place from September 23 to 27, the National Council on Aging is organizing a nationwide observance with state coalitions and partners to raise awareness about the importance of preventing falls, reducing the risk of falls, and assisting older adults in living without the fear of falling.
