June may be over but Pride never stops! Meet Dan McCallum from the Marketing team. He recently joined Dave in March and has already made an impact, especially in co-leading Dave’s virtual Pride events and activities. Bringing your identity to your workplace has evolved and Dan has experienced this first hand. “My experience and how it’s impacted/shaped my work identity has changed over the years as companies and the gen-pop became more progressive. In the 90s, I would not mention that I was gay at work because it still felt so taboo. Flash-forward to 2024 and during my Dave onboarding process I was asked about my pronouns, we have a #gayve Slack channel, and we celebrate Pride and hold events. I instantly felt accepted and able to present/lead with my true self which has been incredible.” His journey reflects a remarkable evolution in workplace inclusivity, from silence and caution to pride and acceptance. Thank you Dan for always bringing your true self to work!

👀 We often talk about the best ways to celebrate achievements in the workplace. Instead of suggesting a cookout or bringing in lunch, I want to emphasize the importance of celebrating wins at work! ▶️ Recognizing accomplishments at work is essential for boosting morale and strengthening the team. It validates hard work and inspires motivation. ▶️ Simple acts such as sending recognition emails and giving shout-outs during meetings can create a positive work environment where achievements are appreciated, motivating everyone to strive for excellence. ▶️ Celebrating wins fosters a sense of camaraderie and reinforces interpersonal relationships, which in turn enhances collaboration and trust among team members. It also helps establish a culture of achievement and reinforces organizational goals. ▶️ Acknowledging successes nurtures a sense of pride and ownership among employees, leading to increased job satisfaction and retention. ▶️ By celebrating wins, organizations acknowledge individual and collective efforts and inspire continuous dedication and innovation. 🎉 Celebrating wins at work is not just about the event itself; it's about fostering a culture of appreciation and excellence that drives the team towards greater success. ⏩ I help leaders learn how to "Slow Down to Go Fast!" 🌟 Celebrating Wins Together: The Heartbeat of Our Success 🌟 In the fast-paced world we navigate, taking a moment to pause and celebrate our wins—big or small—within our teams is not just a moment of joy, but a crucial pillar that supports our collective success. It's these moments of recognition and celebration that build the foundation for strong, enduring relationships within our team. 🎉 Why is celebrating so important, you ask? Because it fosters a sense of belonging and appreciation, it reinforces our purpose and drives, and most importantly, it nurtures a culture where each team member feels valued and understood. Building relationships within the workplace is more than just networking; it's about creating a family that supports each other through highs and lows. It's about understanding and appreciating the diverse talents and perspectives that each member brings to the table. These relationships are the scaffolding on which we can lean when challenges arise and the network we celebrate with when milestones are achieved. But beyond the celebrations and relationships, at the core of our endeavors, must be a love for what we do. It’s this passion that ignites innovation, fuels perseverance, and inspires excellence. Loving what you do transforms work from obligation to excitement, turning everyday tasks into opportunities for growth and achievement. And what does this love allow us to celebrate? Not just the success of our projects, but the journey we embark on together. The late nights, the brainstorming sessions, the unwavering dedication—it’s all part of a narrative that culminates in moments worth celebrating. So, let’s make a promise to not only chase success but to savor it together. Let's commit to building relationships that transcend the professional and delve into the personal, fostering an environment where love for our work and for each other is the norm, not the exception. Because at the end of the day, it’s these moments of joy, this sense of community, and the love for what we do that truly define our success. Here's to celebrating every win, nurturing every relationship, and loving every moment of our journey together. 🥂🚀📈 #Teamwork #Celebration #WorkplaceCulture #PassionForWork #ProfessionalGrowth #SuccessTogether

When I joined Take a Seat, one of the biggest things that was a non-negotiable for me was a great company culture. Culture is everything here. We're not just coworkers, we're friends too. We laugh, we learn, and we crush goals together. We believe in work hard, play hard. We're serious about our jobs, but we also know how to unwind. Whether it's team outings like today where we will be celebrating birthdays or just hanging out, we've always got each other's backs. Everyone here has a voice. We're all about open communication and fresh ideas. No egos, just people passionate about what we do. A strong team culture is the foundation of our success. It's what brings us together, drives innovation, and ultimately really makes me look forward to coming into work each day. How important is a company culture to you?

It's amazing how CEOs love to say to their employees, "My door is always open for you. You can come in and share any concerns that you have at any time." Most people don't even try because they know it's a lie. But for the few who try this, they understand why not to do this. They don't want to hear that they are wrong, almost about anything, especially from someone who is in the trenches...since those people can't see the bigger picture😒 They don't want to hear that the policies that they have signed off on are hurting and not helping the people that the policy is designed for. And then once in a while, they come out with open arms and tell you that we are a family, let's be open, I am here to listen to you...and all that crap Only to fire you as soon as they sense...not even see, but sense, that there's going to be a dip in profits. What a family. Celebrating festivals at the office and having fun Fridays doesn't create loyalty. Putting yourself in their shoes and treating them the way you would have wanted to be treated does. So start being a little empathetic and act as a human not as a "Business Owner" and you will see that your people won't start leaving you as soon as someone else offers them a little bit of extra money.

Does everybody in your business know they matter? Do you think it’s important to know you matter in life? It’s the Number 1 thing people want in the world, is to know they matter, that they’re respected, that they are somebody. The Number 1 way you make sure people know they matter is to TELL THEM. It’s simple yet very effective. Use your lips. Don’t text it. Don’t email it. Don’t write it in the sky. TELL THEM! I used to tell my wife I loved her annually, she didn’t think that was a good idea! Things can easily become responsibilities and then we won’t do them often. If you respect your people, TELL THEM. Everyone needs to hear this and no one will ever tell you to stop being too nice to them! If you want to learn how to show your people appreciation, recognition, and encouragement, learn how at the Cockerell Academy! https://lnkd.in/gnuzDgN #disney #disneyworld #culture #communications #respect

Sharing these successes can inspire others and create a culture of mutual support. • Express Gratitude: Show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of your coworkers. SHOW MEANINGFUL APPRECIATION. We all know how easy it is to spot a mistake, but let's challenge ourselves to catch each other doing something right. Acknowledgment isn't just top-down; it's a 360-degree practice that elevates our whole organization. Whether it's a teammate who went above and beyond in servicing a client or someone who simply brightened your day, take the time to express genuine appreciation. In a fully virtual team like ours at Freedom Family Office, these acknowledgments can be even more impactful. They humanize our digital workspace and remind us that behind every email or spreadsheet is a person contributing positively to our collective mission.
