$120K job description, but paying $38k?😬 Hiring for an IT role is really difficult, especially for non-technical leadership. Who decides the technical qualifications and who can actually vet those qualifications?🤔 Too often organizations are looking to hire a “jack of all trades” type of person; someone that can help with everything from cybersecurity, backups, strategy, end-user support, among other things. That’s like hiring a “mechanic” to fix Toyotas, helicopters and yachts… and wanting to pay them like a manager at McDonalds. Staying with the “mechanic” scenario, who would apply to that role? Qualified candidates would know how bad that scenario is and avoid it like the plague. This leaves a pool of unqualified applicants and very little way to properly vet them.😫 What happens when the organization realizes that the new hire isn’t the unicorn (jack of all trades and willing to work for peanuts), they start the whole process over again… “We probably just hired the wrong person…”🤦♂️ For smaller organizations, it often makes sense to leverage an IT partner; broader skillset, service level agreements, experience in your industry and easier to fire than an employee. #ITpartner #ITsupport #nonprofits

Cybersecurity isn't binary🤔 It isn't a matter of "yes" you have it or "no" you don't have it. Fortunately cost isn't typically the gate-keeper for good cybersecurity- the gate-keeper is strategic IT planning and a process to continuously check/improve.
