Day 41 of #100DaysOfSwiftUI is day 3 of project 8, the "Moonshot" app. As someone who grew up with a fascination for astronauts and, specifically, the Apollo program, this app has been particularly fun working on. The app shows details of all of the Apollo missions that went to the moon (and includes details about Apollo 1 for historical reasons (IYKYK)). We're unpacking a lot with this application—JSON data decoding, combining multiple sources of data to form one overview, moving between different screens navigationally, etc. The way the app has come together is really awesome. Tomorrow being the last day of this project, I know it'll be a mostly unguided challenge to extend the app in some way (I haven't looked ahead so I don't know how it'll want that to be done just yet). This week’s RunPee Movie Review is for those as serious about movies as Kris and I are! Dan reviews “Fly Me to the Moon.” Kris and I saw it too … and all three of us liked it. Dan writes, “I’m a huge space nerd. I worked at Space Camp and I’ve talked to dozens of astronauts. Obviously, I was looking forward to this movie, but with a little trepidation because I was curious how they would approach the fake moon landing angle. After seeing the movie, I can say that space nerds like me shouldn’t be concerned. They did it the right way.” Dan gave it a C, Kris gave it a B, and I gave it a B+ (probably because I remember watching the live footage, so lots of good nostalgia for me!). NOIRLab Unveils “88 Constellations” and a Stunning All-Sky Image NSF’s NOIRLab is marking a groundbreaking moment for stargazers and educators alike by launching the 88 Constellations project.
