Following recent press coverage, I couldn't be more encouraged by the new government's commitment to enhancing community safety through investment in community policing, upgraded street lighting, and revitalising public spaces. Their vision paves the way for enhanced collaboration between our industry, local authorities, and community stakeholders, ensuring public safety remains a top priority.
At Mitie, we own solid relationships with all our stakeholders, and we have a transparent approach to data sharing. But the wider community needs to come together to build improved communication channels. Making valuable intelligence, such as crime trends and emerging security threats more accessible will enable us to proactively identify and address potential risks. Ultimately leading to improved response strategies across the board.
And it shouldn’t stop there, collaborative training programmes will provide frontline colleagues with the essential skills to effectively support the work of the police. Training sessions focused on emergency response, conflict resolution, and crime prevention will play a vital role in strengthening our combined security efforts. With the proper skill development approach, private security can do more to meaningfully support law enforcement and to build and grow those all-important relationships with local communities.
We’re committed to taking action and playing a significant role in this collaborative approach to building safer environments for everyone. I’m excited to see how our work in these crucial areas plays out over the coming months.
