BUILDING A WELL-PERFORMING STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT TEAM IN 2024 AND BEYOND During past times, the Procurement department had been called to the fore frontline in dealing with Supplier Relationship Management, cross-functional teams within the internal organisations and other stakeholders on the external unit of many businesses. Organisations having seen the true value Procurement can offer for the whole business, and those invested so much in their procurement team as systems become agile, they in turn adapt to a quick response and meet various challenges confronted with. As the challenges lingers on whiles continually evolving and changing massively, so do Procurement continues to deliver huge value when embraced in businesses both large and small. A strategic Procurement team is responsible for sourcing and acquiring goods and services in alignment with its organisation's long-term goals, driving superior value and competitive advantage. It is useful to understand what these Procurement teams are doing. One will ask the question: How do we improve our teams and individual performance to deliver more for our organisations? I have pulled together five(5) indicators of a truly strategic procurement team. 1. Clear vision:- They have a north star that guides their activity, ways of working and decision making. It is aligned with their overall business mission and shared with stakeholders. Everyone is excited by it - it’s challenging but not unachievable. 2. Attraction and retaining of the best people:- They look for those with the best soft skills (facilitation, influencing, listening etc). They have a clear talent pipeline, are developing their teams and retaining their best people. The right vision attracts the right talent. 3. Innovation: - They do things uniquely and think of completely different ways to solve problems. Their processes are slick and smooth and they work quickly to achieve outcomes. Their negotiation skills are excellent because of this. 4. Masters of collaboration:- They are known for quickly bringing various business stakeholders together to gain alignment, solve problems or collate data. They do this in a way that meets the best use of people’s time. They know the right supplier contacts and have contacts in the wider industry to solve problems when they come up. Example includes: recommendations from sales partners, professional social networks, trade fairs and events, specialised directories, yellow pages etc. They have a great peer network for support, challenge and sharing best practice. 5. Prioritisation:- They assess what is the right thing to be working on right now. This is not what is being shouted about the loudest, but what is the best use of our time. This also must be continually reassessed. They delete or delegate unnecessary tasks. They see themselves as too busy to be wasting time on a regular basis in unprofitable negotiated contracts / unconfirmed project timeline frames deadlines.

5 common Mindset shifts to be happier at Work or Career progression To be happier at work or your career, you need to change the smaller bit of choices made on a daily basis. To do this, you must shift your mindset. If you have a positive mindset, you will make more positive choices. This leads to Career Passion. You will choose focus over distraction and will give attention to determination over lack of motivation. As these choices quickly compound, it skyrocket your success and happiness in your career. To get started, here are just 5 proven tips to develop a positive mindset today and into the future! 1. Don’t dwell on your mistakes When you get something wrong, recognise it and own up to it! Rather than dwelling on the mistake, take the time to reflect on the lesson. 2. Take initiative Rather than waiting for the next opportunity to be handed to you, take initiative and seek out opportunities that excite you, by way of aligning your skills developed with those interests had within you. Consider by asking your workplace management to support further work challenges or finding a mentor who excels in your desired skills. 3. Celebrate the little wins Rather than waiting to celebrate big milestones, intentionally look for little wins to celebrate every day. Did you show up and put in the minor effort regardless your tiredness? Share your little happiness about these little wins with your colleagues and write them down somewhere visible. 4. Gradually learn to love feedback If fear of receiving feedback is undermining your happiness at work, it’s possible to shift your mindset from anxiety to appreciation. The ability to openly receive and act on feedback is a skill. It takes time, reflection and courage to learn. When you next receive a piece of constructive or negative feedback, accept it with gratitude. Write the feedback down and come back later to reflect on it. Questions that one can ask him or herself includes: Have you heard this feedback before? Which parts of the feedback do you agree with? Make note of any useful lessons and then let the rest go. 5. Work to learn, not to earn It’s important to know your value you worth and to be fairly paid. Yet constantly worrying about salary causes stress and is detrimental to your happiness at work. To shift to a more positive mindset, instead of asking ‘How much should I be earning?’, ask yourself ‘How much can I be learning?’. What do I want to be? What do I want to achieve in my career? What are the core skills that is highly needed to get there? Now, look for opportunities to learn and practise those skills in your day-to-day work. Which mindset shifts will you implement in your career to bring about happiness and brightens the workplace around them? TELL REASON(S) OF CHOOSING THAT MINDSET SHIFT(S) in the comment section. Thank you Readers, Journalists, Research Writers, Communications Analysts and Publishers who will add to my knowledge! PLEASE LIKE, FOLLOW ME & SHARE.

BEACONS OF HOPE IN SPACE RACE, CO-WORKERS AND NOT COMPETITORS On 29th July, 1955, the United States of America announced its intent to place satellites in space. Soon after, the Soviet Union declared its plans to do likewise, for which means the space race had begun. The soviets would launch the first satellite (Sputnik) and place the first human in space when Yiuri Gagarin orbited our planet one time. The race continued until, on 20th July, 1969 when Neil Armstrong first person landed and walk on the moon. Neil Alden Armstrong (August 5, 1930 – August 25, 2012) was an American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who, in 1969. He was also a naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor of Wapakoneta, Ohio, U.S.A. His quotes stated, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" would unofficially end the competition. A season of co-operation soon dawned, leading to the creation of the International Space Station. Astronaut was originally used to refer to space crews from the United States of America but is now a general term used by many different countries. Russian space crews are called cosmonauts, Chinese space crews are often called taikonauts, and European space crew are called spationauts. Would one at least think it be cool if astronauts started planting flags on extraterrestrial bodies in the name of Earth, rather than the country that they come from? In a project titled by graphic designer "The International Flag of Planet Earth," Oskar Pernefeldt mocks up a planetary flag and how it would appear in different uses, including sewn onto a space suit, planted on another planet, and held up in what one can only assume is a high-stakes interplanetary sporting event. The flag he designed was largely blue with a series of white, intersecting circles through the center. Pernefeldt went with a primarily blue flag to represent the overwhelming 71 percent mass of water that covers Earth and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water. With a video footage,111 astronauts planted their nations' flags. The Apollo 11 Lunar Lander carried a plaque that read, "we came in peace for all mankind" which is a noble gesture, especially considering was a national competition with the Soviet Union that really drove the mission. So far no nation has claimed the Moon as their territory and Antarctica is still somewhat free of national claims. In a Nutshell, Meetings Coverage General Assembly of UN for the 78th Session, 15th Meeting (AM) posted on 24/10/2023, asserted that "Outer Space Must Be a Place for Peace and Cooperation, Not an Arms Race. This simply means we as mass of people must be a beacon of hope and unity to all countries of different race, cultural differrences, backgrounds planting their Int'l flags on planet Earth. MENIAL JOBS MOST OFTEN LEADS TO MEAGRE INCOME, HOW TRUE IS IT? It is of a true fact that menial jobs regarded by some people that discriminate and limit others' personality brand image in terms of career chosen picture in their foresight that those jobs results in meagre income. Despite this assertion, serving humanity with proper utilisation of resources is the most primary necessity resulting into huge income. Another important secrecy in the global labour market trend in recent years is the outsourcing of low-paid work (menial jobs) to specialised agencies. Examples: Housekeepers or Janitors, security guards, kitchen porters / Waiter(ess), labourers, shelf stackers, car wash attendants, errands boy / girl, garbage recycling sorters, door-to-door sales, warehouse containers' loaders & offloaders, caretakers, road sweepers, Trash bin cleaner, etc are increasingly subcontracted to firms specialising in these services rather than employed in-house. Desperate Job-seeker with or without vision, have you ever looked down on menial jobs? In our society today, we consider menial jobs are mores often times overlooked, undervalued as a low-skilled job for unskilled individuals who are involved in repetitive tasks that do not require much training or critical thinking. However, we fail to take note that these workers are the backbone of our economy where they play a consequential role in our communities. I am certain that others will also quote Martin Luther King, “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.' No work is insignificant. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.” Menial servants doing drudgery jobs have no need to gain real skills and qualifications, but yet still with others even if their passionate desired jobs is not met, they show self-motivated, keep going and got to survive. They also deserve a common “Thank you” and showering of Praises as Bosses will in turn expect honour of achievements, though they cannot rub shoulders with those in higher authority. We are Pre-destined for change on this planet, Earth! “Always do your best in whatever you do; set goals and seek challenges;become a role model for those coming behind you; and always have God in your heart.” - Charles F. Bolden Jr. Quoted biblically from the scriptures: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters (Colossians 3:23) NIV My (David) philosophy in life, “Never too late to begin real life beyond youth stage for any menial jobs, so as not earlier enough when starting in the latter part of Adolescence”. 😀 Thank you for reading. Greetings to you wherever you follow me world-wide.

PROCUREMENT ORCHESTRATION: AN END-TO-END GUIDE OF PROBLEM-SOLVING TO PROCUREMENT PROCESSES. If incase you have spent much time listening to procurement software salespeople, you might have heard them stretching in covering around a topic with the term “Procurement Orchestration.” I hope this has left you scratching your head and in awe right? Don’t worry – you are here on the right path to learn something new or add to your understanding and not alone. In this article, I seek to draw the clear picture in establishing what procurement orchestration is and what it isn’t, to help you see through the sales pitch. Before we get into procurement-specific applications, we will give a definition of orchestration from the world of software engineering, which is where the main term comes from. So, what is Orchestration? According to Databricks: “Orchestration is the connection, coordination and management of multiple computer systems, applications and/or services, people, stringing together multiple tasks in order to execute a larger workflow or a complete end-to-end process across an organization. Here is what Procurement Orchestration isn’t described about. * Orchestration isn’t just automating a procurement task. * Orchestration isn’t an integration layer that helps a new piece of software “talk to” an existing system. * Orchestration isn’t an add-on designed to fill gaps by sitting on top of an existing solution. Now, WHAT IS PROCUREMENT ORCHESTRATION? Procurement Orchestration is the centralized coordination of procurement processes, technology, and resources across multiple business units, regions, and categories. A good procurement orchestration platform should be able to coordinate the orchestration of procurement data (like source-to-pay software suite), procurement processes (ie. need identification, managing spend analysis, sourcing, supplier onboarding, contract negotiation, e-Procurement, etc) and stakeholders. Some benefits of employing procurement orchestration in your organization 1. It enhances cooperation between stakeholders and automates compliance checks, which greatly minimizes human mistakes and guarantees adherence to laws and corporate guidelines. 2. With Supplier relationship management view approach, it leads to cost savings, improved supplier selection, and bolsters supplier relationships. How do companies implement procurement orchestration and what is a very good one to consider? Procol is the best company to implement procurement orchestration and the most reliable when compared to other companies. Procol offers a comprehensive solution to implement procurement orchestration effectively. Its user-friendly interface, effective reporting and analytics, with valuable insights make it a preferred choice among various companies offering to implement it. Founded in 2018, Procol is India’s ideal procurement orchestration company that has been securely deployed at say $1B global companies. THANKS FOR READING!

An Astronaut is a person trained, equipped, and deployed by a human spaceflight program to serve as a commander or crew member aboard a spacecraft. Brief Background Research of Astronauts: The military selected the first astronauts in 1959. The first astronauts were military personnel who had experience flying jet aircraft and backgrounds in engineering. They also had to be shorter than 5 feet 11 inches—to fit in the Mercury spacecraft. Astronauts can be scientists, doctors, engineers or pilots. They fly to space to do things like conduct experiments, collect data, launch and repair satellites. Since it is pretty hard to go into space on your own, there aren't really any "amateur" astronauts, although a couple of people have paid lots of money to go into space. They are paid by an organisational body to do science as a course discipline, whiles they communicate what they learn to the general public in the world. There are a lot more astronomers than astronauts: around 10000 astronomers in the world. Being an astronaut is a lot more riskier than being an astronomer, since space travel has a lot of things that is possible can go error. Their jobs often require working with groups, and travelling to far-away places. Astronauts currently work as scientists on the International Space Station. Not all Astronauts are professional researchers with PhDs in science. Two-thirds of astronauts come from an Science and engineering educational background. The requirements for astronaut selection are: 1. A masters degree in engineering, biological science, physical science, computer science or mathematics. 2.
