Since before Carve Communications, Inc. was an actual revenue generating business and before COVID was a thing, I knew our company mindset had to be centered around our employees personal lives were part of the work culture vs work culture being part of their personal lives. Or more simply put, work life balance. Call it what you will but it is a vital part of any workplace culture, whether fully remote like we are now of if you're back in the office, like we used to be. Those that don't choose to give their employees the freedom to live their life while also committing themselves to work are the ones dealing with so called "quiet quitting" and/or "quiet vacationing." I think higher-ups are missing the lack of trust and respect messaging when denying the opportunity to work-from-anywhere. If you can’t trust me to do the work I’m contracted to complete, we have larger problems to work though. If their need for control outweighs the greater needs of the employees to thrive in a position that isn’t required to be in-office, we have larger problems to address. It’s also not the employees responsibility to manage the emotions of the CEO. We start crossing all kinds of lines when those rationals are used as excuses for decisions. It’ll be interesting to see how many companies embrace this new culture and thrive, and how many companies fight it and end up with higher turnover and a less satisfied workforce; the rate of salary increase cannot realistically keep up with the increase in cost-of-living expenses and stress related to commuting and in-office appearances. Anecdotally, I recently received a cost-of-living adjustment to my salary equal to the money I would save in gas, wear/tear on my vehicle, food, and clothing if I were allowed to work remote one extra day a week Companies want to sell invisible paychecks but only when it suits their agenda. Which suppose is fair in war and business

Work life balance is not one-size-fits-all. It could mean: Remote work 8-5 schedule, home for dinner with the family every day No nights or weekends Unlimited PTO Flexible schedule to attend kid's or family member's appointments A four day work week. 60 hour work weeks, but they have a slack channel so you can share pictures of your dog. Candidates, if a company says they offer "work/life balance" ASK MORE QUESTIONS. Their idea of work/life balance may not match yours! #jobseekertips

Indian culture often prioritizes the number of hours worked and being present in the workplace, rather than emphasizing quality and business growth.This focus on quantity over quality can lead to inefficiencies and missed opportunities for innovation and progress. In this profit-driven environment, the well-being of employees takes a backseat to the insatiable hunger for wealth. It is toxicity of corporate world that has added misery, stress and discontent to the life of employees. Evenif the employee is working hard, corporate culture wouldn’t let you survive if you are not working as per the rule which setup by the front seat players of the organisation. Partial, biased nature of higher management also disrupt the working of a good employee of the organisation. 12 hours working in a day can never lead us to the perfect work life balance evenif we are earning in crores(which is illusionary). We need to get the toxicity out of the organisation and get the healthy environment around of each one of us, just in order to keep the employee in a healthy mental state and mental peace.

Got this as a forward. Unsure about the source. However the consulting domain is not so rosy work culture. And there are some honchos from corporations who discourage work life balance to ensure fat bonuses and stock values for themselves. If true, need to relook at work cultures and not just pay and get tags 'Great places to work'!! Easy to provide consulting advice to clients difficult to practice at home!

WLB becoming outdated The concept of work life balance is becoming increasingly outdated in today’s fast paced world. In the era of remote work, constant connectivity, and evolving career demands, the lines between personal and professional life are more blurred than ever. Rather than trying to balance the two in a traditional sense, many are now embracing work life integration. This shift allows individuals to align their work with personal values, manage time more flexibly, and pursue fulfillment in all aspects of life. It’s about creating harmony, not balance, in a world that no longer fits into a 9 to 5 mold.
