Did you know?💡💡💡 Defining Cosmopolitan (Not the Drink) Since Cosmopolitan includes the root polit-, from the Greek word for "citizen", someone who is Cosmopolitan is a "citizen of the world". He or She may be able to read the morning paper in Rio de Janeiro, attend a lecture in Madrid, and assist at a refugee camp in Uganda with equal ease—and maybe all in the same week. And a city or a country that is Cosmopolitan has aspects and elements that come from various countries. Today More than Ever We Must Become Citizens of The World to Solve Humanity’s Challenges like Global Warming, Pollution and Food Security. ♻️♻️♻️ We must Evolve Daily to Become Humans Who Care about People, Animals, Nature and Our Planet to Overcome and Reverse The Challenges Ahead of Our Younger Generations. 🐋🐋🐋 We Must Become ONE. Ever heard of #coolcationing? It is a relatively new travel trend gaining traction due to rising temperatures. As people increasingly seek relief from scorching summer #heatwaves, the term “coolcation” refers to summer holidays in destinations with cooler climates. Nordic countries are becoming the "coolest" choices for travelers. Bookings across Scandinavia are up 27% compared to last year. Research by the EU paints a concerning picture. In the most alarming scenario, Greece, a traditional summer hotspot, could see tourism demand plummet by more than 7% compared to 2019 while cooler destinations like Sweden, Denmark, and Finland could see demand rise by more than 6%. However, it’s all relative: these parts of the planet are not immune to rising average #temperatures; in fact, the latitudes farthest from the equator – now viewed as a haven - are warming at the fastest rate. Temporary fixes like this can be effective for now, but when it comes to climate catastrophe, we must address the root cause, not just relocate the problem.

🌍 As southern Europe swelters under extreme heat, travelers are seeking cooler vacations in Scandinavia. ☀️🔥 🏞️This trend, dubbed “coolcationing,” is boosting Scandinavia’s tourism industry, which saw a $124 billion contribution in 2023, up 6% from the previous year. With a 27% rise in bookings, Scandinavia is indeed having a moment. 📈✨ Research shows that global warming is shifting travel preferences. Countries like Greece might see a tourism decline, while Sweden, Denmark, and Finland could experience a rise in demand. 🌡️📉 Scandinavia offers diverse activities – from hiking and reindeer spotting to exploring vibrant cities like Oslo and Copenhagen. Despite rising temperatures globally, this region remains a cooler refuge. 🥾🦌🎨 How do you feel about these shifting travel trends? 🌐✈️ #TravelTrends #Coolcationing #ClimateChange #Tourism #Scandinavia #SustainableTravel #ExploreTheNorth #ClimateImpact #TravelSmart #DrAlaaInsights

Top 6 bucket list alternatives to combat overtourism 🌍 While more people than ever are keen on exploring the world (which we love!) some popular sites are starting to buckle under the weight of so many visitors congregating in that one ‘Instagrammable’ bucket list location. This has already begun to negatively impact fragile environments and ancient monuments that have up until recently stood the test of time. With governments and organisations like UNESCO starting to implement more rules and limits, and locals, whose everyday lives are impacted by an influx of tourists rallying for change, how can we travel more responsibly and lessen the strain without sacrificing once-in-a-lifetime experiences? It’s more simple than you might think… Read on > https://lnkd.in/eqy8n4is #travelinspiration #sustainabletourism #sustainabletravel #findyourwild

Honoring World Heritage Day: Celebrating Our Shared Cultural and Natural Treasures As World Heritage Day approaches on April 18th, it's time to reflect on the significance of preserving and protecting our world's most cherished cultural and natural sites. This annual observance serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding these treasures for future generations to enjoy and appreciate. World Heritage Day, also known as International Day for Monuments and Sites, was established by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982. The date was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the founding of ICOMOS on April 18th, 1982. Since then, World Heritage Day has been celebrated annually to raise awareness about the diversity of cultural heritage and the efforts needed to conserve it. The significance of World Heritage Day lies in its ability to draw attention to the importance of preserving our cultural and natural heritage. It serves as a platform for promoting awareness about the value of these sites in terms of their historical, cultural, and environmental significance. By recognizing and celebrating World Heritage Day, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting these sites and promoting sustainable tourism practices. Cultural heritage sites encompass a wide range of tangible and intangible assets, including historic buildings, archaeological sites, monuments, and traditional practices. These sites serve as a link to our past, providing valuable insights into the history, traditions, and cultural identity of communities around the world. By preserving cultural heritage, we not only safeguard our collective memory but also promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. In addition to cultural heritage, World Heritage Day also highlights the importance of protecting our natural heritage. From pristine wilderness areas to iconic landscapes, natural heritage sites play a vital role in preserving biodiversity and ecosystem services. By conserving these sites, we ensure the continued survival of endangered species, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and ecotourism. Whether through advocacy, education, or sustainable tourism initiatives, each of us has a role to play in safeguarding our cultural and natural heritage for future generations. By working together, we can ensure that these sites remain sources of inspiration, wonder, and appreciation for years to come. The natural pool represents the core of what Villa Miglia is, a self-sufficient, sustainable and economical eco system. When someone mentions a natural pool, the term "natural" refers to the treatment of pool water, which in this case is equated with the processes we see in rivers and lakes, where stone elements retain impurities, plants aerate the water, and fish help clean it by feeding on organic material in leads. #VillaMiglia #ArtHome #QuietLuxury #OffPlanProperty #Istria #Istra #Croatia #Hrvatska #Investement #LandArt #NaturalPool #Wellness #Welbeing #Home #SolarEnergy #RainWater #Collecting #Tank #Sterna
