The global mining exploration services market is projected to reach USD 172.35 billion by 2030, owing to the increasing demand for clean energy infrastructure. As per IEA 2023 estimates, over the next two decades, it is estimated that copper demand is going to increase to 40%, nickel and cobalt demand will rise to 60 - 70%, and lithium will increase to 90%. The rising demand for minerals and metals necessitates more mining exploration activities, thereby driving the industry's growth. Canada’s mining industry let out a collective groan after the $2.15-billion sale earlier this week of Toronto-based Osisko Mining Inc., which owns one of the largest, highest-grade undeveloped gold deposits in the world. It estimates that by 2035, recycling will only be able to supply five per cent to 10 per cent of the country’s need for critical minerals and that 15 new mines need to be built in Canada over the next decade to meet the demand for raw materials that will be created by the four battery cell manufacturing plants slated for construction here. ...a great read on an uncertain future for a sustainable "sustainable transition" when it comes to critical mineral. https://lnkd.in/d8XxsmFn #canada #mining #criticalminerals #climatetransition
