For a few years now, I have been trying to find simple ways to convey the powerful message of Web2 Neo Feudalism. The premise is that while our societies strive to be based on the rule of law, the internet is basically in the Middle Ages in terms of user rights. We own almost nothing, and we are happy. When trying to develop a simple project on the variety of new EVMs that are popping up, it is so easy to take for granted all of the tools that are readily available on mainstream networks...like price feeds for example, or even just the resplendent variety of known tokens. While memecoins in practice are pretty dumb, there is so much data available related to them that make them a great experimental tool, especially when there are existing tools referencing them like Chainlink or Band price feeds. I'm trying to build a little hackathon project where I need to deploy my own memecoin, my own pseudo price-feed for the memecoin, etc...and it really reminds me how far the space has come in just a few years :)

It's been just over a week since TOKEN2049 wrapped up, and we're still buzzing from the experience! We've taken some time to reflect on what an incredible event it was—being part of such a dynamic industry and connecting with so many inspiring people is truly a privilege.   A few key takeaways: 👇   1️⃣ The future looks bright—with the increasing push to bring traditional financial assets on-chain, the potential for growth is enormous.   2️⃣ There's still a lot of work to do in educating around regulatory requirements and understanding the gap between what’s technologically possible and what’s compliantly achievable in different jurisdictions.   3️⃣ Builders are absolutely building, there's a air of enthusiasm around what is being built right now, and what's going to be built over the next few years. It’s official — Build has been acquired by Seed Club! We’ve been working on this acquisition for months but really it’s years in the making. Seed Club has been in our corner since day one, as collaborators, investors, and friends. I’m really proud of our team and the Build community. Over the past 6 programs >10k builders have participated and launched more than 1k fully functional products. Build graduates have received many millions in grants and other funding, gone viral, solved real problems, and sparked joy. There’s a lot more to come for Build — the team at Seed Club is world class at supporting builders at early stages through their accelerator and venture fund. We couldn’t have found a better partner to make Build even better. So what’s next for us? Rapha and I are keeping our team intact and while we’ve been working on the acquisition we’ve also been incubating Grids, which will now be our full focus. We’re taking a big swing at fixing some of the problems we see in how people work with agencies to get a product built, and thanks to our learnings from Build we’re pretty sure we can do it. Perhaps this is obvious given the company we’re building, but if you’re reading this and considering taking the leap to start your own thing — it won’t be easy, but you won’t regret it.
