Video is a great medium for charities wishing to highlight their impact, and this is a great example! I was sent this by Kieran Connolly and wanted to share it to show what can be achieved with visual storytelling using video. A glossy report full of professionally captured images, a well developed written narrative, case studies, and testimonials would do a fantastic job of showcasing the work and successes of Sports Fun 4 All (and I'd recommend investing in that, if it's not already being done) but seeing and hearing it in video form like this makes for a more emotional and human connection. Not only that, research and anecdotal evidence suggests that people increasingly prefer to consume content in the form of video. Anyway, here it is, take a look and see for yourselves https://lnkd.in/e-FJpqtb And well done to Keiran and team, this kind of community sports initiative is really important - I know from a previous connection to AFC Fylde Foundation in Lancashire that it's not just about getting young people into physical activity and allowing them to develop sporting skills, it helps in all sorts of other ways too, from fostering a sense of community, teaching social skills, healthy eating, and keeping them out of trouble, to giving parents and carers some respite and enabling young people to acquire skills and behaviours that will boost employability in later life.

Spread the holiday cheers [有錢出錢，有力出力] https://gofund.me/91d108ed For this holiday season, I am very proud that my colleagues have volunteered their time to help put together this crowdfunding campaign to support Kuan Shou Chen, the current #1 U18 Boys tennis player in Taiwan and #75 in the world to get to the Australian Open in January 2025. Tennis in Taiwan, unlike the rest of the world, is not a sport of the privileged. These junior players grow up training on dilapidated courts, trained by coaches who are fueled by passion--think Coach Prime's energy minus the millions. I met Coach Weiyoung Cheng, Kuan-Shou's coach after I read about Kuan Shou making it all the way to the semi-finals in the 2022 Orange Bowl. There are so many stories that I can share with you about Coach Cheng, but I will keep it short. But, if anyone knows someone at Netflix, call me. = ) 1) Coach Cheng, despite a late start in the sport and lack of coaching, was admitted to National Taiwan University, the Harvard of Taiwan, via his tennis prowess. 2) He gave up a promising career in technology after working for nearly 2 decades and returned to his hometown to coach youth tennis full-time. 3) He has literally put his players on his back to help them compete globally. Coach Cheng is not only the tennis coach, he is a one-man team: driver, cook, guardian, travel planner, psychologist, and fundraiser. Often times, Coach Cheng has needed to dip into his own funds to cover shortfalls for his players. My goal is to at least lessen the financial burden and pressures for Coach Cheng and Kuan Shou in 2025. Please donate if you can. James Hudson Taylor (Chinese: 戴德生; pinyin: dài dé shēng; 21 May 1832 – 3 June 1905) was a British Baptist Christian missionary to China and founder of the China Inland Mission (CIM, now OMF International). Taylor spent 54 years in China. The society that he began was responsible for bringing over 800 missionaries to the country who started 125 schools and directly resulted in 20,000 Christian conversions, as well as the establishment of more than 300 stations of work with more than 499 local helpers in all 18 provinces. The Chinese government is increasingly cracking down on state-sanctioned churches as well as underground churches, leaving no "safe place" for Christians, according to International Christian Concern. A new report by ICC tracks persecution of Christians in China since July 2021 and records 32 cases of arrests and detainments, five raids on Christian schools, and 20 cases of the Sinicization of churches - where churches are forced to align their faith with the social and political messaging of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The ICC said that exact numbers were likely to be far higher because of the challenges of receiving information from China. "The government's scrutiny of Christians is part of a wider effort to Sinicize the country by coercing religious groups to submit to the communist CCP ideology," the report said. Yet it is this persecution that results in Christian faith and churches thriving. The lack of persecution in the U.S. has resulted in a falling away from faith in Jesus Christ, and our apostasy has in turn resulted in the Lord turning away from us in judgment.

Five days until we get to start cheering for the amazing athletes on #TeamUSA and their peers from around the world! 👏👏👏 Working in concert with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the #Olympic National Governing Bodies (NGBs) play a critical role in developing and preparing the U.S. athletes for this moment, but not all NGBs have the same resources. Here is a quick side by side look at 2021 revenues for Summer NGBs ahead of a beautiful #Paris24 🇫🇷. As I shared in a similar post in 2019 between Rio and Tokyo, there will be a lot of talk about the “medal count” soon, but money is the lifeblood these nonprofits need to truly fulfill their mission. (Link to older post in comments if interested.) Looking beyond Paris from a commercial standpoint, the road to LA will be the most important four years for the Summer NGBs since the Atlanta 1996 quad. A domestic Olympics is game-changing. The 1984 LA Games changed the #Movement and #LA28 should be equally transformative for the whole of OP sport. If you don’t like how your favorite sport looks here, donate and/or give your time to the NGB(s) of your choice to help them ahead of a rare Summer Games. At the risk of sounding like a pharmaceutical ad with fifty percent legal VO, a few comments and caveats re: my methodology: • Revenue in millions. • Only includes Summer Olympic sports that were on the Tokyo programme. Not counting new French or LA additions like Breaking or Cricket. • Para is not accurately reflected. Some are managed by NGBs. Some USOPC. • Multiple NGBs have separate Foundations. Not including those 990s. • Used 990s from official NGB sites linked from TeamUSA.com. A few required a search of GuideStar or ProPublica. (Appreciate those NGBs who make this financial info easy to find. For those who bury this detail from constituents, please try to do better.) • Used 2021 data to reflect Games impact and as too many NGBs have not shared 2022 info yet. • Recognize some 990s use a fiscal year different from calendar year. Used 990 covering Games or before, whichever is larger. • Small NGBs use IOC sport three letter code with the smallest (Pentathlon, Handball, Badminton, Golf) down to two. • Total revenue is $841.2M. (For comparison, the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State University Department of Athletics generated an estimated $1B+, as in billion, and $251M+, respectively, during roughly the same period.) Successful fundraising depends on a clear vision, strategic planning, and collective effort. It’s about more than raising money; it’s about creating a culture of generosity and support. As we reflect on Paris 2024, let us draw inspiration from the USA Women's Olympic Basketball Team. Their story is a blueprint for excellence in any endeavor where teamwork and dedication are key.
