🔎 Can you spot the issue in this Detection of the Week? Did you spot the missing third pantograph horn? This type of defect does not trigger the ADD (automatic dropping device) and can cause the contact wire to go under the pantograph head, causing significant OLE damage. Thanks to our Pantograph Monitoring system, PanVue, we were able to alert the operator to inform the driver to lower the pantograph and book it in for repair. I think it must also be explained that this system is linked with the condition that all the catenary elements must be carefully adjusted for optimal operation between the pantograph and the contact wire suspended by all the necessary elements which must have perfect adjustment in order to keep their roles which is essential, I am talking about the dropper, the messenger, cantiveler, clamp, clip, feeding clamp with dropper, pulleys, stedy arm etc… which will necessarily depend on the counterweight and the average temperature to adjust all the elements of catenary and well heard without forgetting to mention the essential adjustment of the catenary staggering because if the contact wire were always at the center of the pantograph, frictions would break the pantograph breakage.The contact wire is positioned alternately on either side of the axis of the pantograph stagger: ex +_ 20 to 40cm.

A new camera and software system have been developed to accurately record natural animal-view videos, as reported by Vera Vasas from the University of Sussex, UK, and colleagues from the Hanley Color Lab at George Mason University, US. Week 4 learning #MOOC #Cartography #Esri It was about labeling and compositions on a map. 1. Created a street map of New York with refined label placements and a layout of the same. Learn techniques of labeling that are beyond the defaults. 2. Worked with label classes and advanced label settings. 3. Created a map of proportional labels for 2016 US elections by putting together the ideas of thematic maps and labeling. Also got introduced to Arcade Expressions in ArcGIS Pro, which allows us to control many aspects of symbology by creating scripted expressions.

🔎 This week's Detection of the Week brings an uncommon find.   The Camlin Rail #PanVue module has automatically detected the presence of a #bird on a pantograph, raising potential concerns about possible damage from collisions.
