What are the types of surface marker buoys? Permanent Surface Marker Buoy: 1、Surface marker diving buoys (SMB). They are permanently visible on the surface and indicate the position of a group of divers throughout the dive tour. Generally, the Divemaster or group guide is the one who tows the diving marker to keep the boats away. They are usually round or torpedo-shaped scuba diving buoys. Some have the submerged divers signaling flag incorporated. 2、Delayed Surface Marker Buoy Deflatable surface marker diving buoys (DSMB), also known as delayed surface marker buoys, or decompression buoys, are the second type of diving markers. In this case, the divemaster takes them deflated and fills them with air only when the group is about to surface. These dive buoys signal that the group has started to ascend. These dive buoys look like tubes or sausages, are linked to the diver by a reel, and are brightly colored to be seen well into the distance. #SMB #DivingSMB #Freediving #WaterVisibility #BuoySelection #DivingSafety #MemorableDiveExperiences #LinkedInDivingCommunity #DivingBuoys #MarineSafety #DurabilityMatters #InnovationInMarineGear #LinkedInMarineCommunity #SurfaceMarkerBuoy

Cave-diving is underwater diving in water-filled caves. It may be done as an extreme sport, a way of exploring flooded caves for scientific investigation, or for the search for and recovery of divers. The equipment used varies depending on the circumstances, and ranges from breath hold to surface supplied, but almost all cave-diving is done using scuba equipment, often in specialised configurations with redundancies such as sidemount or backmounted twinset. Recreational cave-diving is generally considered to be a type of technical diving due to the lack of a free surface during large parts of the dive, and often involves planned decompression stops. A distinction is made by recreational diver training agencies between cave-diving and cavern-diving, where cavern diving is deemed to be diving in those parts of a cave where the exit to open water can be seen by natural light. An arbitrary distance limit to the open water surface may also be specified. Cave diving is one of my favourites, as you will never expect what to see. It is always a unpredictable adventure! This cave was located around Savu Savu Island, in Fiji! The name of this dive site was "Dungeons and Dragons". The Buddy system is suggested for your safety making diving fun and enjoyable. From predive plans to exit plans to EAP, we do all this with our buddy. These are precautionary measures that the diving community in any school of thought or agency agree upon. Although there are no dive militants at the surface of every dive site, the point is, it is still a system put in place so you will re surface. Just saying. If you ask me, even with solo diving certified divers or cave divers, buddying up every dive is a must. #scubatips

Sidemount diving is a great setup where you mount tanks on your sides instead of your back. Here are three big perks 👇 1️⃣ Better Mobility With tanks on your sides, you can move around more easily, especially in tight spots like caves or wrecks. It gives you the freedom to explore without getting stuck. 2️⃣ Increased Safety You usually carry two tanks, each with its own regulator. If one system fails, you have a backup, making your dive a lot safer. This is key for deep or tricky dives. 3️⃣ Great Buoyancy Control Tanks on your sides help you stay balanced and streamlined. This means better buoyancy control, less drag, and more efficient movement, letting you dive longer and with less effort. These benefits make sidemount diving a solid choice for both recreational and technical divers looking to up their game underwater. 🙌 #mérida #merida #scubadiving #cenote #buceo #sidemount

⛵Member Alert🚤 Take a read of this article from #TheCA Regulatory & Technical Services group (RATS) about diving from your boat. Yes, you can change your anodes, clean the hull, clear a fouled propeller, clear a blocked seacock, check underwater damage, retrieve a stuck/fouled anchor, check your mooring, look to see how well your anchor has set or even watch some marine life in its natural environment. All of this is true, but there are inherent dangers that you may not appreciate that could lead to death or life-changing injuries when diving from your boat. 5 things you should never do in scuba diving ⬇️ 🚫 1. Skip a buddy check Always conduct a buddy check Before each dive, perform a buddy check to catch any gear issues, ensure your air is on and full, and familiarize yourself with your buddy’s equipment. It only takes a minute, so there's no reason to skip it. 🚫 2. Dive beyond your limit There are good reasons for your maximum depth limit. Diving deeper than your certification allows requires additional training and experience. It's crucial to stay within your certified depth. 🚫 3. Wearing incorrect weight Carrying extra weight is like constantly hauling a brick around. It makes your body work harder, complicates buoyancy control, and increases air consumption. 🚫 4. Skip a dive briefing Listen closely to the dive briefing and follow the dive guide's instructions. They are familiar with the dive site, understand local conditions, and know where to find elusive marine life. 🚫 5. Hold your breath Holding your breath can cause serious lung injuries due to pressure changes underwater. Would you add anything to this list? Comment below with additional tips for safe diving! 🤿 #mérida #merida #scubadiving #buceo
