Hey good morning. I I wanted to we've just literally posted A blog on this morning on the App Strato website and it's it's titled Software Revolution and I don't want to go through the full detail of the blog on this video. Instead I wanted to share some ideas I had off the back of it and and also some experiences. So the the the blog it kind of covers the problem of. Um, software growth over the last 10 years, you know the it's just been prolific and you'll have heard myself and and you know our website talks about it. It's just so many applications to manage right now and there's a lot that are coming through that are not on Prem but they're task based which again brings more problems for procurement teams. And and we kind of talk about how procurement have been left with the problem of of all of these applications in terms of managing cost and licensing terms and renewals. And, and quite rightly so, to to in the main. But fundamentally, there's just too many business applications for procurement teams to manage. And if you look at the traditional approach or the way that we work, software asset management, now you either have a fully managed service where that that organizational provider will will look at the top 1020 applications that you've got in terms of spend. And or if you're an end user, you'll go out, buy a piece of software asset management technology, and then you're responsible for recording all the licensing information. Now, both of these scenarios don't cover off the fact that most end users are really struggled to to to record this licensing information in a consistent and detailed way so that you've got trustworthy reports. The reseller community have tried to provide value added services, but invariably the detail and the consistency isn't there and and and they're only doing it if they've got a one supply deal, and even then they're probably there for maybe two or three years. So it's a real inherent problem and I think I think off the back of this blog and we've we've got one or two services anyway that the tackle it. But I think in general the software asset management industry needs to pull together here and look at services around the license administration. So you can do an audit any time of the day it's it can be cyclical, it can be one off, it really doesn't matter you know you could just do it once a year if you really wanted to. But. The notion of just recording the licensing information or having hunt for what licenses you've got and documenting every now and then is just it's just too damaging commercially. So we need to start looking at how we can help organizations record all of the software, all of the licensing information, the costs, renewals, versions, et cetera, et cetera. But it's not an easy service, it's not easily done.
