Only one-third of companies are using protections against generative AI threats, which gives attackers an advantage over cyber defenders. Security teams need to remember that even as they use generative AI, humans still need to be involved in the decision-making process. https://hubs.ly/Q02x6tp20 #ITstrategy #security #artificialintelligence

Robotics | Responsible AI | Cybersecurity | Measurement Science | Standards | Risk Management | Bridging the disciplines, solving problems, and getting to "Yes" responsibly!
And so ends #DEFCON for another year! So many friends and contacts, old and new, so many great ideas and discussions. Particularly interesting was the AI village, with the intersection between AI and cyber security taking center stage, both here and in the DARPA display. There was certainly a lot said about both the use of AI to protect from, detect, and respond to attacks, as well as talks around ways of attacking AI. Less prominent were some of the other intersections between AI and cyber security. I've spoken a lot about how having AI in your organization means changes to risk governance more generally. If we look at the #NIST Cyber security Framework (#CSF) 2.0 functions, in addition to govern, protect, detect, and respond, we also see that identify and recover are important functions. I'm sure there is some use of AI here too but it doesn't seem quite as prominent. Who can suggest some good examples of AI used in connection with the identify and recover functions?
