A Grand Day! Today was the grand opening of Tanglewood Care Home - Trent Bridge in the heart of Nottingham. I remember the site being a Nat West Bank many years ago and going with my Dad! The location and views are absolutely incredible. The roof top terrace overlooks Trent Bridge cricket ground! The Tanglewood Care Homes team are clearly very proud of their latest home in Nottingham and are looking forward to welcoming new residents. It was clear from the CEO speech that they received 100% service delivery from their consultants and Torsion Construction Lovely to meet Adele Gavaghan (Nee Hawkins) Sally Tebbett in person. Paperwork Decluttering…what will you find? I’ve been helping my Mum to declutter her paperwork. It was neatly filed in a metal file but it was getting a bit full. It became evident she was meticulous about keeping things in date order and organised by category. I came across a receipt for my 21st birthday party at The Park Yacht Club, what a great night that was all those years ago! Some people find sorting and organising admin an overwhelming task. Sensitive Decluttering. My latest job was a sad situation as the home owner went into hospital but sadly died leaving the house as she left it. The property is in Leicestershire but was inherited by a relative who lives in Wales. A local Estate Agent referred the client to me as the relative wanted some help with decluttering and getting the house ready to go on the market. I’ve spent about 10 hours sensitively decluttering and de-personalising, adding a few little touches and doing a spot of cleaning including wiping down the front door, window sills and pulling a few weeds. It’s the little details that matter as much as the main brief, to me it’s all part of the job. It’s a lovely little property, the client is very happy and I hope the Estate Agent is pleasantly surprised too. #estateagents #homestaging #APDO

Simple changes….. I’m currently decluttering and sorting a property on behalf of a client referred to me by an #estateagent. It’s a deceased estate and will go on the market when probate has been granted. It’s a lovely little bungalow but a little crowded in some areas, one in particular was the coffee table so I’ve re-positioned it and kept it simple. I’ve spent a few hours clearing the food cupboards, bathroom cupboards, tidying away items from view so the rooms and surfaces are clear ready for the Estate Agent to take their photos. Decluttering and some simple changes will make a difference to viewers. #property #estateagents #eastmidlands

What are neighbours for? I’ve been supporting a client who’s decided to move to Churchill Living Ltd. His main reason is loneliness following a divorce very late in life. His neighbours have been incredibly helpful and have helped him clear the garage and taken some furniture off his hands. We’ve sorted the kitchen and run through the moving checklist. We have a plan for move day including taking the meter readings, I’ll be giving him a lift to his new home and helping him unpack. He might miss the bloom of flowers outside his window but I think he will benefit more from some company. Retirement living is not for everyone but for some, it offers the best of both worlds - independence and companionship. #retirementliving #loneliness #aging
