ICYMI: Dave Kimball of our subsidiary, Mahoney Environmental participated in a segment about the evolution of aviation fuels, and the role Mahoney plays in gathering the critical used cooking oil (UCO) feedstocks to make sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). SAF production has grown from a nascent industry over the last few years, as more airlines, such as United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, JetBlue, and manufacturers like Boeing, Airbus, and others seek alternatives to the conventional jet fuel pool. Sourcing these feedstock and producing a drop-in lower carbon solution is just one of the ways Neste is driving change. Exciting to see.

Aviation can achieve net zero by 2050, if certain technological and business transformations are made, according to a report by the University of Cambridge. The "2030 Sustainable Aviation Goals" report outlines a five-year plan to guide the aviation industry towards net-zero emissions by 2050. It proposes four key goals: 1- Operation Blue Skies - Implement contrail avoidance systems. 2- Systems Efficiency - Drive systemic efficiency improvements. 3- Truly Sustainable and Scalable Fuel - Scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) using cross-sector strategies. 4- Moonshots - Launch experimental programs for transformative technologies.
