Is it ever too late to pursue your dreams? At 45, it may seem like a daunting task to leave the stability of a job that doesn't fulfill you. But what if there's more to life than just a steady paycheck? What if we could create a system that works for the people, not against them? Our government may seem like an enemy at times, but it's up to us, the people, to make a change. We can't just sit back and let others get rich while we work tirelessly for little reward. It's time to take action and create a better future for ourselves and future generations. Join me in creating a non-profit organization run by the people, for the people. Let's march together and make our voices heard. It may take every able-bodied person, but together we can create a people's party and bring about real change. Are you ready to get off your ass and make a difference

Transforming Workplace Culture and Building Engaged Teams through Training 🌟 Leading Innovations in Training Programs and Curriculum Development ✨Public Speaker 🔈 Communicator 🤝 rocking to my own beat
There are many options available for #transitioningservicemembers, including opportunities in profit, non-profit, entrepreneurship, and continuing education. In my opinion, Non-Profit gets overlooked and isn't discussed as much. Today, I've got three brief paragraphs, stick with me 🫵: As a transitioning service member, I have noticed that many of my colleagues prioritize "getting that bag 💰" (a big paycheck 😆) as they make the move out of the military. While financial stability is certainly important, it is also worth considering the potential challenges and routine of corporate environments. Some of us may be searching for roles that provide a deeper sense of fulfillment. I was deployed to Haiti during the earthquake in 2010, and to this day, it remains one of the experiences that I fondly reminisce about. I had the opportunity to assist those in need, and I witnessed a side of humanity that significantly shifted my perspective. I've found a few things that highly interest me in the non-profit realm. Keep an open mind. It is possible to earn a living by working for a non-profit organization and still find fulfillment. Consider taking the red pill... 🌟 Looking to Make a Difference 🌟 I’ve been doing some thinking lately. Helping people, especially kids and those in tough spots, is something I really want to get into. With a bunch of experience under my belt, I realized it’s time I start using those skills for a bigger cause. So, here’s the deal: 📢 I’m looking to join a non-profit board that could use a hand with their numbers. 💵 Whether it’s making sure we’re using resources wisely, keeping things transparent, or planning our next big move, I’m all in. I’m not just looking to crunch numbers; I want to help steer decisions that lead to real, positive change. If you, or maybe someone you know, is on the lookout 👀 for someone eager to give back and help steer the ship, especially if it means supporting those who need it most, let’s chat. I’m ready to dive in and see how I can help! #nonprofit #heretohelp #financeforgood #makingadifference #board

We have an awesome team at Sunday and a powerful network of thought leaders and influencers including Jason Bartz. Get to know him with a quick Q&A. 1) Can you tell us about yourself? I joke all the time that I reside in sunny Buffalo, New York. I'm the father of two incredible kids, who have given me a fresh perspective on work and career goals. In my day job, I lead growth initiatives for a fintech in the commercial lending space. Outside of family and work, I do what I can to support the entrepreneurial community here in Western New York through the founding of the micro-grant program Good Neighbor Fund. I think that's what drew me to Sunday's mission. 2) Why do you support non-profit work? Non-profits, through the selflessness and empathy of the individuals that power them, provide the critical infrastructure that support our communities. Most of the work of non-profits cannot be seen, but can be felt. 3) Why do you like Sunday? Sunday provides a much-needed service in a space that is rampant with predatory lenders. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and entrepreneurship is a gateway to changing ones standing in the world. I choose to support Sunday, because Sunday provides zero interest loans to underserved small businesses around the world. #nonprofitleadership

I was recently matched with myself in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global) Member Connect. With my word of the year being Evolve, this felt so fitting to reflect back on Morgan Swanson. If I were to meet her again, this is what I would tell her. 1. Say no to things that are draining. 2. Communication is always key. 3. Drink more water. 4. Define your goals and start budgeting for them yesterday. 5. Give yourself grace and take breaks. Burnout at a young age can happen. 6. Yes, the career change will be worth it! #nonprofit 7. Spend more time with your loved ones. 8. Read more books. 9. Your work ethic is worth it, keep it up!

Hey. That's our story at Battle Borne. When we told people we saw this need to fill in the gaps and create programs for things that were not being done at the present time and resources for things we know veterans and their families needed, we heard things like: • It will never work. • You'll spread yourselves too thin trying to work with everyone. • You won't be able to sustain yourselves financially if you are constantly helping other grassroots non-profits. • Other organizations are predominantly silos and you guys are trying to be a hub. • Not everyone will have your mindset. We found the last one out the hard way. However, we stick to our motto #TogetherWeRise. Why? Because that is the mission. Loyalty to mission doesn't end when the feeling you had when you made the decision to carry it out wears off. So, yes, we will do it twice and take pictures. Not because of ego or arrogance. But for the pride and satisfaction we take in our work. #PrideNotEgo #LoyaltyToMission #AttentionToDetail #ItTakesACommunity #Impact2024

Marketing Director, Communications Director, Non-profit Advocate, Donor Relations, Customer Success, Results Driven
Friday thoughts!!! How many times have we heard the phrases "That's not my job" or "I'm not being paid to do that" in our workplace? As someone fortunate enough to work in the non-profit sector for almost four years, I can honestly say that I rarely hear these words uttered by any of my colleagues. I believe that speaks volumes about the culture that we have nurtured and developed here at Primo Center over our impressive 47-year history. From recording meeting minutes, managing moves, washing agency vehicles, creating marketing campaigns, drafting memos, or making coffee – you name it! – I have had the opportunity to do it all at Primo Center. Working in a non-profit organization has taught me the true value of teamwork and ingenuity when it comes to problem-solving and finding solutions. It has also reinforced my belief that you treat everyone with dignity and respect regardless of their position or role. Non-profit organizations, compared to many corporate entities, often operate with much tighter budgets and rely on funding sources that can be unpredictable and vary from year to year. Moreover, our teams and departments are not always as large or defined as those in larger corporations. However, this simply means that everyone, regardless of job title, rolls up their sleeves and dives into whatever needs to be accomplished. And guess what? When this level of dedication and commitment to the cause happens, the entire organization succeeds. We are then able to accomplish our goal of being one of Chicago’s most trusted providers of programs, services, and shelter for families experiencing homelessness. I am incredibly proud to be a part of an organization that fosters such a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. The non-profit sector may come with its unique set of challenges, but the rewards are immeasurable. It is an honor to work alongside colleagues who are willing to go above and beyond their job descriptions to make a difference in our community. Here's to the power of teamwork, the strength of our non-profit family, and the endless possibilities we can achieve when we break down barriers and support each other in reaching our goals! Let's continue making a positive impact together. #teamwork #nonprofitsector #primocenter #makingadifference #communityimpact
