🚆 Celebrating Rail Innovation: From 1835 to Today On December 7th, 1835, the "Bavarian Ludwig Railway" made its first journey marking the start of a new era in transportation. The legendary locomotive steamed along a modest 4-mile route between Nuremberg and Fuerth at a top speed of 14.2 mph, transporting 100,000 passengers in its first year. 189 years later, Deutsche Bahn is a leader in rail mobility, with employees from over 100 nations and high-speed trains reaching 186 mph with over 1.3 billion passengers annually on a network spanning 20,758 miles. Building on Deutsche Bahn's legacy, DB E.C.O. North America extends this vision of innovation and excellence to our North American clients. Our goal is clear, it is to transform the future of mobility.

🚅 We need high-speed rail in the U.S.! Imagine going from NYC to nearby cities in just a few hours. My experience going on the Deutsche Bahn high-speed trains built by Siemens Mobility from Berlin to Düsseldorf was so comfortable and fast. I talked more with Anja Bröker (Head of Press Office at Deutsche Bahn) about their partnership with Siemens and how something similar could help many parts of the U.S. #sponsored

🚄 News from Bayern's Railway Authority (BEG)! BEG has launched the selection process for a company to operate Allgäu regional passenger services with a groundbreaking fleet of emission-free tilting trains. These innovative trains will utilize electric, hydrogen, and battery power, marking a significant step towards sustainable transportation. 🔄 Contract Details: Current Operator: DB Regio using Bombardier diesel units. New Contract Duration: December 2029 - December 2041. Phases: Phase 1: Introduction of new trains. Phase 2: Route reshuffling for optimized travel times. 🌟 Key Highlights: Reliability Focus: Full adoption of new technology only after successful daily operation testing. Minister's Statement: Christian Bernreiter calls this tender one of the most exciting and challenging since Bayern took over local passenger rail transport nearly 30 years ago. Innovation: These trains will usher in the "tilting technology era 2.0," making Bayern a trendsetter in railway innovation. 🚆 Additional Updates: The contract includes tilting trainsets for Expressverkehr Nordostbayern services starting December 2032. BEG has awarded Transdev’s Bayerische Oberlandbahn the Oberland 2027+ contract to continue operating regional diesel services from Munich, with options for early termination if electrification proceeds. This is a monumental step towards modernizing and greening our regional rail services. Stay tuned for more updates! 🌍✨ #RailwayInnovation #SustainableTransport #BEG #Allgäu #TiltingTrains #FutureOfTransport

In Sweden, a permanent electrified road is being built, the first in the world for electric vehicles (EVs) to be charged while traveling. The highway chosen for this pioneering project is the European route E20, which connects the logistics centers between Hallsberg and Örebro. This road is located between the three main cities of the country, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The project is currently in the procurement phase and is scheduled to be built by 2025. The charging method for E20 has not yet been decided, but there are three types of charging under consideration: a catenary system, a conductor (ground-based) system, and an inductive system. This initiative is part of Sweden's efforts to decarbonize the transport sector and prepare the necessary infrastructure for fossil fuel-free mobility. It's an important step towards sustainable transport, allowing cars and trucks to recharge on the go, which experts say allows them to travel longer distances with smaller batteries and avoid waiting at charging stations. @DFL
