Senior Structural / Civil Engineer | Oil & Gas, Power and STP Plants | Master's Degree l Client Rep. l PMC l EPC
Sequential Construction Analysis (Non-Linear Analysis) -If there is planted columns or transfer slabs, it is required to define construction sequence case as it is more realistic in calculating the planted column load than the whole structure analysis, as it eliminates the Vierendeel action* of columns with floor slabs or beams. Vierendeel action* : It is an expression on CSI web which means that upper floors act as a Frame and carry the planted columns which leads to not realistic values regarding Moment and shear values for planted columns. For more clarification, watch the attached video which explains the difference in results #structuralengineering #structuraldesign #civilengineering #oilandgas #petrochemical #industrial #highrisebuildings #Lateralloads
