BATSS #events 🗓 Our partner CIDETEC recently showcased their innovative work with #BATSS at the 8th European Conference of the PHM Society in Prague, Czech Republic. 🏛️ Dr Mikel Arrinda Martinez, Battery Diagnosis Team Leader at CIDETEC, presented an insightful paper titled "Comparison among machine learning models applied in lithium-ion battery internal short circuit detection". This work aligns with BATSS's goal to implement internal impedance trackers, crucial for battery safety and performance. Dr Arrinda's presentation covered: 🔍 Comparative analysis of machine-learning methods for detecting internal resistance 📈 Lessons learnt during the model development process 🛠️ Evaluation results showing maximum detectable internal short circuit resistance These findings will inform future developments in #BATSS, contributing to our commitment to #BatterySafety. 💡Kudos to Katrina Petersen, our Senior Researcher, for co-authoring the Paper ‘Key value indicators: A framework for values-driven next-generation ICT solutions’, recently published in Telecommunications Policy. This is the result of the work conducted within the Societal Needs and Value Creation subgroup of the Vision Working Group where PSCE is involved. The Working Group is established under the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA), where PSCE is also represented in the Board. The paper highlights the new narrative in the world of #innovation where the integration of the #societal #dimension is becoming more and more prominent. Aware of the lack of a clear conceptual framework that supports #value-#driven #development, the paper aims to address this gap by proposing a Key Value Indicator (#KVI) Framework tailored to the ICT research and development sector. PSCE has been actively working with the concept of KVIs. Complementing technical performance, the aim is to bring #public #safety into focus by integrating a value-driven approach in the #technology #development process.
