📢 Did you hear? 📢 DC Structures just had our annual company-wide summit, and it was one for the books! 😍 The DC team is scattered all over the US, so it was such a joy to reunite as one team, see each other in person, and catch up on what we've been up to for the last year. The week-long summit closed out with short presentations from each department, and the energy in the room as every team member got to shine with their respective accomplishments and highlights from the past year was electrifying. 🤩 Thanks for being on this journey with us! Cheers to another year of creative projects, surpassed goals, and innovative solutions! 🍻

General Superintendent at Talley Riggins Construction Group, LLC & Co-Chair at Breakthrough Builders Network
Tear Down the Silos! That will be the topic for the next Breakthrough-Builders Network event to be held on 9/05/24. We all understand that silos are barriers to collaboration, so why do they still exist? How do we break down the silos that prevent us from making a real difference with our teams in the field? Although not always intentional, why do we continue to build silos within our companies, teams and projects? Great teams remove the barriers that the silos create! How do you enable your teams to remove these silos? What has worked for you in the past? What hasn't worked? If you are in the construction industry and are in the DFW area on 9/05/24 come be a part of this impactful discussion. Join us and Erica Olschnoegger at the Hilti North America corporate office. This is a free industry event that you will not want to miss. Register at this link. https://lnkd.in/dTh-hFSC Follow Breakthrough-Builders Network, Benjamin Carter or myself for future updates.

What's that hush? Is it the silence of facilitators across the globe reflecting on the contribution of Harrison Owen to our practice? Respectfully remembering his passing? Yes, I believe it is... #RIP #OpenSpaceTechnology #OST #facilitation International Association of Facilitators (IAF)
Certified Professional Facilitator / Strategic Planning facilitator / Team Building facilitator / Community builder / Trainer
I am saddened to learn that Harrison Owen, originator of Open Space Technology, has died. I am very grateful for his innovative work to bring the power and practice of self-organization to groups of people everywhere. As a facilitator, I have offered #openspacetechnology (OST) to many groups as a way to talk, decide, and act. Participants create the agenda of a meeting, session, or conference and self-manage the discussions, creating a highly participatory, inclusive and collaborative experience. An OST event is a breath of fresh air compared to highly structured and scripted events. I frequently go back to Owen's book to refresh myself on the philosophy, principles, laws, and setup for an OST session. I'll read parts of it tonight to celebrate the contributions of a remarkable individual. #facilitation #lawoftwofeet #OST #meetings #conferences #dialogue #conversations #gratitude #honouring

The Touchplan Team (Brett Adamczyk; Amanda McKernan; Sam Melisi and Tyler Kelly) knocked it out of the park during the two days they graciously afforded Richard Group for training. It was an amazing experience and the resounding sentiment from the field was “When do we get Touchplan on our project?” Touchplan has been rolled out on three of our EHRM projects already and is showing significant success with subcontractor coordination and teaming. We believe Touchplan implemented correctly will be a game changer for project teams utilizing 3-6 Week Planning Schedules or Look Ahead Schedules as you can incorporate digital pull planning and tracking. Buy-in from your Subcontractors is key to a successful well-run project in a team environment. Giving your subs a voice in coordinating the sequence of DFOWs along with controlling their individual crew sizes and days to complete a task allows them to obligate to weekly completion dates while interacting with the other subs during Weekly Coordination Meetings. And, we go as far as to invite the client to join post WCMs to update them in real time of activities and locations required to execute our contractual obligations. This will give the Client/Owner the opportunity to notify end-users, police and staff of the rooms, buildings, parking lots, roadways, etc. that the schedule requires access to and allow for way finding and temp swing space moves to be completed pre-construction. The partnerships between the Owner, Client, GC and Subs are crucial to maintain a holistically respectful and communicative platform in progressing a successful project. Touchplan helps you achieve that goal, and we look forward to what the future holds as we embark on this endeavor and solidify our collaboration with Touchplan.
The Touchplan team takes on Chicago to visit Richard Group. Day 1 was a success followed by a great dinner! Richard Group has seen tremendous growth over the last year due to their constant commitment to providing an unparalleled best value experience. We’re excited to see how our partnership will allow them to continue to elevate and standardize their planning for years to come! Bring on Day 2!
