Good news in the produce world. Pricing coming down, quality going up as we go into PEAK season. Check out the video and details below from Markon Produce! -The quality and shelf-life outlook for Salinas Valley produce items is improving significantly -A steady barrage of spring rain events and prolonged cool weather resulted in disrupted plantings, disease pressure, and fatigued crops in April and part of May -The rainy season is now essentially over, and it has been nearly three weeks since the last storm -Although some disease and insect pressure are present in some crops, the extended outlook on quality and shelf-life is better than it has been all season -Markon inspectors are actively monitoring commodity and value-added items and working with growers to secure the best product for Markon orders
