Strategies for Sustained Tourism Growth: A Call for Action and Reform - Critical steps needed to protect and grow tourism sustainably. - Golden opportunity with stability of current government to reform tourism. - Rising arrival data should not lead to complacency; current tourism numbers remain sub-optimal at low rates, especially outside peak seasons. - Do not rely on inaccurate tourism revenue figures. - Effective consumer marketing and destination positioning are essential for developing sustained demand at profitable rates. - A nation branding strategy should encompass both tourism and the promotion of goods and services, enhancing the country's international profile. - Dedicated task force necessary to develop and manage comprehensive campaign; existing structures insufficient. - Current management of tourism attractions poor, posing risks for future growth due to potential backlash from negative visitor experiences. - Establish unified management structure for wildlife and cultural attractions to enhance service quality and visitor experience through simple process improvements without requiring significant investment.
