Mitigation vs. Remediation, what’s the difference? Mitigation includes reducing the impact of a threat when it cannot be eliminated. This would be water pooling in your ceiling from an upstairs leak, breaking through and flowing into your flooring downstairs. Our team would mitigate the issue by removing the unsalvageable drywall, extracting the standing water, and setting up fans and dehumidifiers to stop the water from continuing to soak into your ceiling joists and flooring. Remediation completely removes the threat when it’s possible. A mold job is a great example of remediation. We don’t want to leave the possibility for future growth.
