Extracurricular are good or bad??🤔 I'm a second-year BBA student, and I've learned something big about personal growth through extracurricular activities like the National Cadet Corps (NCC). NCC isn't just about uniforms and drills; it's about teaching values that stick with you even after the training ends. ✨Two big ones for me are Unity and Discipline. Unity in NCC isn't just about working together. It's about respecting everyone's ideas, getting along even when we're different, and aiming for the same goals. Whether we're doing tough exercises or helping out in the community, unity showed me how important teamwork is. Then there's Discipline. It's like the secret sauce behind success. NCC taught me how to manage my time, stick to the rules, and stay focused even when things get tough. These skills have helped me do better in my studies and handle challenges in life. Being part of NCC has been a game-changer for me. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗖𝗖! Thrilled to share a major achievement – I've been selected to be a part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC). Out of 305 applicants, only 49 were chosen, making this journey even more special. 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁: The journey started with rigorous physical fitness tests, pushing me beyond my limits. Endurance, strength, and determination played a crucial role in securing my spot. 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺: The intellectual challenge followed, where a written exam tested our knowledge and understanding. It was an opportunity to showcase not just physical prowess but also the mental acuity needed for the NCC. 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲: Beyond physical prowess, the journey involved a cultural test where candidates demonstrated talents in dance, singing or musical instruments. Embracing diversity and the arts, this phase added a unique dimension to the selection process. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: The final hurdle was the interview, a chance to express my commitment, values, and passion for serving our nation. Grateful for the opportunity to share my aspirations with the NCC selection panel. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲: Huge thanks to everyone who supported me throughout this demanding process. What a great week at Ft Liberty! The Ft Liberty MTC team gave the opportunity for new FA57s to: 1. comprehend all of the low overhead tools that can support Division, Brigade and Battalion training support demands. 2. allow our students to learn about a large scale simulation (JLCCTC), by creating units and thread tests. 3. Compare advantages and disadvantages of both low overhead tools and large scale simulations. 4. Clearly see that the Joint Event Life Cycle (JLEC) is truly a modifiable model, and how to modify the model to meet unit training request that are <90 days from execution. Additionally, Ft Liberty FA57s hosted a luncheon so that new FA57 officers could understand that living in the FA57 world is cognitively challenging, but that the entire community will respond whenever someone has a question. I’ve always been driven to improve myself, and part of that is to learn as much as I can, participate in as many courses as possible, and learn as many skills as I can manage. It is something I tried to emphasize with my Marines and also am trying to rub off with my co-workers at Walmart. No matter when I say “this is the last one”, I keep being drawn to more knowledge and talent development. Part of it is the mentality of adapt or perish. And I've definitely been fortunate to have opportunities from the United States Naval Academy and United States Marine Corps to learn a lot, especially if you seek out those opportunities. Here I'm sharing my experience in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and how it helped me to know the importance of soft skills in shaping my professional and personal life. If you're feeling stuck in your career, remember that Sometimes not getting what we want can teach us valuable lessons that benefit us both personally and professionally. Don't let frustration take over, instead, take a step back and reflect on what you can learn from the situation. Every experience, even the difficult ones, can help you grow both professionally and personally. The first lesson I learned was patience when I was overwhelmed by the rules and regulations my dad encouraged me to stick with it. I'm grateful I did because it taught me that if we want something bigger in life, we should have the patience to achieve it, otherwise, we might lose hope and quit. The second lesson teamwork was emphasized. We were divided into teams and given tasks that required us to work together to achieve a common goal. This taught me the importance of collaboration and how working together can lead to better outcomes. Thirdly, time management was crucial. Juggling college, preparing for defense, and personal work, taught me how to manage my time effectively. Fourth, dealing with pressure was a significant challenge. The daily schedule was rigorous, but it taught me how to handle pressure. Fifth, the NCC taught me leadership qualities, I was allowed to lead teams and take charge of situations. This experience taught me how to be a leader and inspire others to follow. Lastly, punctuality The NCC taught me that meeting deadlines is achievable if we work on time. In conclusion, my experience in the NCC taught me valuable lessons that have been instrumental in shaping my career and my personal life.
