As the month of May comes to a close, take some deep breaths. 😮💨 May is Mental health Awareness Month. It comes around every year and serves as a reminder to care for your mental health as if it were a muscle. Do the things that make you feel clear headed: take deep, calming breaths before and after a moment of stress and find a community of people to reach out to when the going gets tough. DDB health encourages the use of Wellness Days to take the day to breathe and mentally recharge. Friday MyDay and Summer Fridays are another great way that our teams limit meetings to allow for a quick, recharging Yoga session or taking a walk outside. 🧘🏽♀️ There are many ways to overcome a difficult time. What are some ways or strategies you use to maintain good mental health? #DaretoDoBoldly

🌟 Let's talk about mental health! 🌟 It's important to take care of our mental health just as much as our physical health. Here are some daily reminders to help you stay on track: 🌸 Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Whether it's painting, dancing, or cooking, make time for hobbies that make you happy. 🌸 Practice gratitude by focusing on the good in your life. Take a few moments each day to reflect on what you're thankful for and write them down. 🌸 Remember that it's okay to not feel okay sometimes. We all have bad days, and that's normal. Don't be too hard on yourself and give yourself time to heal. 🌸 Learn to say no and set boundaries to reduce stress and overwhelm. It's okay to prioritize your own needs and take a step back when you need to. 🌸 Practice positive affirmations. Tell yourself daily that you are worthy, capable, and loved. 🌸 Prioritize self-care including exercise and healthy eating. Taking care of your body will help improve your mental health as well. Remember, taking care of your mental health is a journey, and it's okay to take it one day at a time. Mental health is a vital aspect of our lives, impacting us all in various ways. As statistics show that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem every year, the conversation around mental health has gained significant importance. It's Mental Health Awareness Week and this year's theme, as set by Mental Health Foundation, focuses on the theme of Movement: Moving more for our mental health. Being physically active is great for our bodies and our minds, however, so many of us struggle to move enough. One of the most important things you can do to help protect your mental health is regular movement. It can increase your energy, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost your self-esteem. Mental Health UK revealed that 56% of people found that exercising regularly helped them to alleviate stress and prevent burnout in their lives. However, movement doesn’t need to look like going to the gym, running a marathon or taking part in a sport – and it doesn’t need to cost much either. It can be as simple as stepping off the bus a stop early, moving a one-to-one meeting to a walking call, giving your child a push on a park swing after school, or putting on your favourite music and dancing around the living room. #MomentsForMovement #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealth #Wellbeing

Equally important though is the mood-enhancing role that exercise plays in improving our mental health. How do you implement exercise in your routine? 🏃 Comment below 👇 #WeAreWSP

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and there are many simple ways to improve and protect your mental health. One such way is to spend time in nature. Taking a break from the busyness of our every day lives to slow down in nature is an easy way to lift your mood and clear away negative thoughts. Spending time in nature can be as simple as walking barefoot in your backyard or walking through your neighborhood and taking time to notice blooming flowers, budding trees, and green grass. For me, spending time in the woods always clears my mind and lifts my spirit. I often take time for a long trail run in the woods on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Regardless of the weather or the season, I find this time alone in nature has a deep, positive impact on my mental health. One of my colleagues, who lives in a major metropolitan area, intentionally spends time outside during the workday. Twice this week my colleague has attended our team meeting outside, in a park near her apartment. What a perfect way to spend time in nature, even while working. Whether it’s 5 minutes or 2 hours, how might you choose to spend time in nature and improve your mental heath? #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
