At the #APREA Hong Kong conference, #Link's Chief Corporate Development Officer Ronald Tham joined other industry experts to discuss the crucial role of regulations in catalysing the growth of #realestate.   He discussed that since #LinkREIT's listing, H-REIT regulations have evolved to keep pace with latest market changes, both locally and globally. A supportive regulatory regime continues to play a pivotal role in the further development of H-REITs, according to Tham. To attract more issuers and capital, it is important to achieve a level playing field with other listed companies and #REIT markets in the areas of disclosure, investment restrictions, legal structures and tax exemptions.    With the launch of REIT Connect, Tham believes that H-REIT can offer itself as a new investment product for onshore investors, especially those seeking stable and growing income from real estate. But we must also step up market promotion and investor education for this asset class.
