The Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) was formally registered in May 2000 after the founders of the association, led by Dr. B M Kibirige realized the need to bring Hotel owners in the country together under one common thread to lobby and advocate for the interests of hoteliers in Uganda. UHOA's vision is to be "the leading association and principal voice for the hotel sector in Uganda". This is achieved through its mission: "Promoting and enhancing quality standards among members’ facilities and services through capacity building, marketing, and advocacy". UHOA, presently has over 603 member hotels and employs 58% females and 77% youth. UHOA's key objectives, including: ๏ Building the capacity of members to offer quality services ๏ Assisting members to improve their occupancy rates. ๏ Lobbying and advocating for an enabling environment for the Hotel industry in Uganda. ๏ Strengthening the institutional capacity of UHOA to deliver its mandate. AMERICANS are dominating #tourist arrivals in Zambia’s key destinations, Zambia Development Agency (#ZDA) Committee on Licences, Permits and Certificates Approvals (#LPCA) has heard. This was during a tour of selected operators in the hospitality industry in Livingstone and Kazungula, led by committee chairperson Musokotwane Sichizuwe, to appreciate challenges, opportunities and successes. The key destinations in which the Americans are dominating are Kafue, Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa, in which they are accounting for 50 percent annually, followed by Europe, dominated by the United Kingdom (UK) and Germany at 20 percent combined, while the other 50 percent is shared by the rest of the world, with notable increases in arrivals from local tourists, the Southern African Development Community (#SADC) region and Australia as reported by all operators engaged.

🚀 The Enugu State Government has partnered with Landmark Africa Group in a transformative Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to revamp the iconic Nike Lake Resort Hotel. As part of the deal, Landmark will invest over N10 billion in the first phase, managing and restoring the resort to its former glory. Some high-level stats: - Estimated population of 200m - 10% to 15% of whom travel by plane with most of those passengers flying domestically - <2m passengers fly internationally per year The upside in Nigeria is huge despite the devaluation of the naira and one-way passenger traffic.
