Some w2 reps I talk to think the agent program is too good to be true. They are surpirsed that the pay is weekly, based on the pod being received not the customer paying. They are surprised all the tech, tms, loadboards, 411, highway, etc is all paid for. They are surprised there is a billing department just like their w2. They are surprised there are no KPIs or set working hours or “bosses”. They are surprised that if they are doing 40k in GP monthly at their w2 they would be making around 350k a year as an agent. Seems too good to be true. That was my thought at first, but the more and more people I talked to who had done it the less skeptical I became. If you are hesitant about the agent program I’d encourage you to ask your recruiter to speak to some agents who have made the jump, or ask some agents on LinkedIn. I still remember the feeling I got when I got my first paycheck at LDI, it felt VERY real. Not too many jobs out there that you can switch to and do the same exact job and get more freedom, and possibly make a couple hundred thousand more. #sales #logistics #trucking #agents

Interesting Supreme Court case on the recoverability of a hire company's loss of use contractual claim against the hirer which is in turn claimed against the negligent driver which caused the repairs (and lost use during them). SC rejected arguments accepted in all lower courts that the loss represented pure economic loss and was too remote. If produced, utilisation rates of the hire company's hire cars may serve to reduce the level of damages awarded but would not defeat the claim of remoteness based on the argument it not being a reasonable pre-estimate of the loss simply because of a difference in value. Burden of proof to show remoteness falls to the defendant.

Say you have a customer that is great, but insists on having middle of the night updates? We had an agent have this issue recently. The reality is in most agent programs he would have to hire an operations person, or become a zombie. We have track and track people that work overnight on our w2 side alreday, we are able to allow agents to ultize them for nights/weekends for Free. He still gets 70 percent, no fees and he can sleep and make money! He is extremely happy, and said his customer has had no complaints. The majority of agent programs he would have been out of luck, unless he wanted to spend money hiring his own help . Which isn’t realstic for agents who are doing 20- 30k yes they make 140-210k but they aren’t busy enough to need help. A lot of agent programs are very similar, but it’s often the small things that set them up which is why I recruit for HD Ships. #sales #logistics #agents #trucking
